Books that changed your Life?
Mine first:
Kenneth Hagin "How to be Led By The Spirit of God". I read a lot, and that's the best book I have ever read about communication with God and being lead by Him. That simple yet profound book is - as we use to say it in Poland - a real eye-opener.
Mel Tari "Like a Mighty Wind" & "A Gentle Breeze of Jesus" These are my favourites about Living God in action. These books have shaped my hunger for supernatural stuff of God for a long long years.
James B. Richards "Grace - The Power to Change". That's a spiritual milk, but how delicious it is!. Some kind of practical user guide to living in and by God's grace. Absolute must read for new belivers and people who needs more God's power in their lives.
Rick Joyner "The Last Battle" & "The Call" (or combined into "The Vision"). That was absolute revolution for my thinking. These books could absolutely upside down your christian world. A must read for every christian that is hungry for more of God.Cumulation of God's revelation and wisdom in these books is so deep that you will have to stop for every few pages to meditate and rethink what you just read.
Wolfgang Simson "Houses That Change The World". This is It! I said finishing to read this book. For the first time I saw christianity as a resolved puzzle with every parts in it's proper place. Milestone for a new breed of christians.
John Eldredge "Wild at Heart" (and then "Waking The Dead" for me as a kind of sequel). What a breath of fresh air in a world of duties and obligations! I never liked man's books, so boring for me! Almost everyone of them taught about how you need to act to be a godly man. That was first about who you really are, and why. After you read you want to act extraordinary - climb the moutain, ride a horse, rescue someone's life, win the race, surrender for higher purpose and be who God created you to be. I still wonder why in Poland mainly woman read this book !?!
Jake Colsen "So You Don't Want to go to Church Anymore?". For a long time I didn't want to read this book, but when I did, it changed my life. It's one of the most revolutionary book I ever read. I longed for a life like this for all my christian life - simplicity that is in Christ. One of those books that Satan hate most!

There is a book that has changed my life feorever. It is a very nice book. Everytime that I read that book, I get new things to apply in my live. I get fresh life coming from that. I get food there. I try many times to read other books but I cannot get at them the life I get from the first book. Now I will tell you how this book is called.
Is called Jesus Christ.

Can I add to a prestigious list the follwing?
Prison to Praise - Merlin Carothers - through which I first learned to give thanks no matter what because God is in charge and works even my mistakes to my good.
The Knowledge of the Holy - A W Tozer - through which I began to grasp the awesome nature and majesty of God
Birthright - David Needham - through which I grasped even further our true identity as saints and not sinners.
Who Moved My Cheese? - Spencer Johnson - an unexpected catalyst on our journey into Simple Church.
I'm sure there have been many more on the journey but these are some that spring to mind

Merlin Carothers was the man who led my father to Jesus ... back in the mid-70's, when they were both stationed at Ft. Hood, Texas.
Dad was a military attorney (had worked on the My-Lai trial, as a prosecutor), and a rather dogmatic agnostic -- -who thought he was god. One day, my mother stood up to him, and his world crumbled (control had been his thing). He was falling apart, and knew he had to see a psychiatrist or a chaplain -- the former would go on his military record, so he chose the chaplain (God is in the details!).
Merlin gave Dad a copy of the book of John, saying, "I want you to take this case -- the defendant claims to be the Son of God, and God Himself. This book is your evidence. I want you to study the evidence, and prove that He's wrong."
By the time Dad was done, he had come to believe otherwise -- that Jesus is God, and he's been a changed man ever since.
I enjoyed "Prison to Praise", but my gratitude to Merlin goes a lot deeper than about what he wrote...!

(boy I find this answering system confusing....AND lengthy...)
I owe a life changing revelation to a George Macdonald novel....reading him the light switched on for me about 'labels': at that point I was a 'born-again, Charismatic, YWAMmer' (there was a number of other labels as well now lost in time...). I dropped most labels from that day forward (late 80s), my attitude to unbelievers was revolutionised---I began to see them as God's creation just like me, rather than another species known as 'non-Christians' in need of my benevolence. Condescension changed to respect and liking. I made FRIENDS rather than identify 'targets'.
I eventually pulled out of the man-created 'Christian world' as well, to rejoin reality and believe for the Kingdom to come there, rather than participate in the bearly fruitful, heavily defended, missionary 'forays' from the one world to the other.

Most of Francis Frangipanes books. The Lord of the House really helped me realize my ideas of what the Body (church) should be were on target.
Some of George MacDonald's novels. He wrote over 100 years but often through the stories God talks to me about His love, about my heart.....

Most of my fav books are included in these lists, and some I had forgotten about like Prison to praise
Have you Mel Tari fans read Rolland and Heidi Baker There is always enough and The hungry always get fed? Mel greatly inspired them, and they inspire millions today.
I love the real life modern day stories of how God deals miraculously and delivers/changes entire people groups at times: eg the Bakers books. I also have a gem of a book which inspired me as a young christian Exodus to a Hidden Valley Eugene Morse, how the Morse family (en masse) found themselves part of/in leadership of a huge exodus of Lisu people in Burma, in 60s. And God led them and hid them for 6 years in an hidden valley. Fabulous stuff!
I also love Bruchko Bruce Olsen; the Richardson books Eternity in their hearts and The Peace Child
A truly great book in my opinion is Tale of 3 kings

I didn't read anything Rolland and Heidi Baker (there is so many good books to read! ;), but definitely I will one day ;). "Eternity in their hearts" is great!

If you may to read only one book (except Bible itself) in your life, read John Bevere's "Driven By Eternity". Half of this book is allegorical story that reminds parable of sheep and goats, the other half is bible-teaching about eternal destination, eternal rewards and judgements. It's not the best book I've ever read, but is one of most valuable! Why? Because our life and eternity absolutely depends on our proper knowledge and understanding of God's purposes and callings. Don't waste your life, don't waste your talents and today choose the future God destined you to achieve, this book will help you in it!
PS. This is also a good panacea for universalist heresy.
