Today there are many opinions, but they all must be measured by the Word of God. There are principalities of the air which seek to come to us as angels of light and to lead us away from the truth. Therefore, it's imperative that we examine ourselves and our doctrine.
Part of my focus here is to lay out a clear scripturally backed explanation of some of the fundamental principles of our Christian faith. My aim is to let you examine your beliefs and to test them by God's word and through prayer. Let the Spirit of Truth convict and guide you.
My hope is that you will not choose to debate these, but rather simply read them and reflect upon them. This isn't a pole to count who agrees and who doesn't. If you want to let others know that you stand in complete agreement so that you can find others of like mind, then feel free. If you disagree and want to show which topics you differ on then please do, but do not start an agrument! Just say I don't agree with the points of Hell and the Lake of Fire. I don't intend on making this discussion a place to fight for your beliefs. Let's do that elsewhere. This is so you can find common grounds with others who believe according to these doctrines.
In order to view the scripture references I've placed you can copy each list and then go to www.biblegateway.com and paste them into the search box. The site will display all the verses just as I have them listed.
One more warning before we continue; it is the nature of Satan to lie, we see this from the beginning in Genesis were Satan puts his own twist on the commandment (word) of God. Remember this! This is how he works. He takes the truth and twist it with opinions and doubts over what God has said.
Let me lead this with this sober warning from Christ:
Many will give up and will betray and hate each other. Many false prophets will come and fool a lot of people. Evil will spread and cause many people to stop loving others. But if you keep on being faithful right to the end, you will be saved. (Matthew 24:10-13 CEV)
The following is a very stern warning Paul gave to the Galatians because of heresies which were spreading into that church. You must ask yourself that if God was angry with the Pharisees for teaching false doctrines and doctrines of men, then can He change since the Cross? Considering the verse which says, "Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today and forever." -Heb. 13:8
"I pray that God will punish anyone who preaches anything different from our message to you! It doesn't matter if that person is one of us or an angel from heaven. I have said it before, and I will say it again. I hope God will punish anyone who preaches anything different from what you have already believed." (Galatians 1:8-9 CEV)

Permalink Reply by vince carroll on September 27, 2010 at 8:21pm Faith alone could be a statement misinterpreted as just believe, Paul told us that the demons believe in Christ and are terrified, so also Faith without works is dead , Faith is shown by our actions, being a disciple , losing our life, dying to sin at Baptism ( Rom 6:4 ) having our sins forgiven and receiving the Holy Spirit,(Acts 2:38-42), and recieving the gifts Christ gave for us to recieve ,without the entire picture of the Christian walk most of us will not make it, anything is possible with God but the way he has given us to walk should be in the new testament faith as a whole that is why i don't like statements of faith because most are over simplifiying of what our faith is and how encompassing if should be in our lives. My 2 cents
