I assume you are talking about the foundations of our faith, the core beliefs that are vital? Something like the Apostle's or Nicene creed?
The 6 foundational doctrines of Hebrews 6: 1-3

Note that, the things the writer of "Hebrews" lists are different than the things the Apostle's creed lists. I know where someone in our circles would go with "baptisms", but dare we assume a Messianic Jewish believer of the 1st century would discuss the same things. Just thinking out loud, so to speak...

The "six foundational truths" of Heb 6:1-3 are basics from which the writer instructs believers to move toward he "meat" of understanding the person of Jesus Christ in greater depth. Doctrine without Jesus is child's play at best, or perhaps even a distraction from "that better part."

"All the treasures of wisdom and knowledge are hidden" in Him (Col 2:3).

Hey Whoa!

Are there six, separate things there?  Or three topics?

Claude:

I didn't even look, because my point, and the whole book of Hebrews point is the supremacy of Jesus Christ. Specifically,, from half-way through chapter 5 until 7:1 is a paranthetical (sp?) break, a time-out for the writer to digress because of the lack of maturity of the believers. In 7:1 he returns to the "meat" (the most important thing, like as "Mary hath chosen" at Jesus feet), which is the subject of the person and work of Jesus Christ. My point was to de-emphasize the assorted "foundational" truths, as the writer has done.

What do you think? Ou habitez-vous?

It gets so much air time since it is used as a canned lesson outline.  But I did like Steve's point.
