The fellowship I am in met today to praise, pray, read the scriptures, share burdens, and eat together (not really in that order, we ate first this time..) We are living and moving in God and doing well. I hope you are!
Great Charity! Our network now has three simple churches in it and all are developing well. Kingdom dynamics like fellowship, discipleship, accountability, among others are at work. The folks are being the body of Christ - not just talking about it. Our daughter, who attends one of your gatherings was visiting us this weekend and left us in time to make it back to her group. That's a good sign for any group that they look forward to the next time they are together. You and Steve are on the right track and it's exciting to watch it develop.
From disaster to learning from my mistakes

I am new to this site so please bare with me.

I had been in a home group that was Near Raleigh [even though I live 30 min. east of Raleigh] and and the group began to fall apart. We get together now and then [every few months but they see neighbors and co-workers].

I had not read any books on house church at the time our group broke up, but now I have read many books on House Church and have seen that we did a few things right but we made a lot of mistakes that a lot of books show will spell doom for the group. I have read books from Frank Viola such as "Pagan Christianity" and "Reimagining church" and Wayne Jacobsen's books "So you don't want to go to church any more" and "The naked church". I learned so much from Frank Viola that it blows my mind. Over the summer I have read about 2,000 to 3,000 pages worth of House Church books, articles, blogs and material in general. Now, all of the sudden, I seem to be meeting people that are seeing the same things I have seen and Jesus seems to be bringing people together and He seems to be putting things together in a whole new way [His way]. It has been painful but I can see I am growing and Jesus has shown me a lot and I am thankful for it.
