I have been lurking about here since December 2008.  I have communicated with the best and brightest in all of Christianity: Dena, Michael, Carolyn, Randy, John Paul, Tammie, to name just a few.  I saw this video this morning, and was inspired by its message.  Can any of you take my challenge seriously?

If anyone has something better to offer than what I have, I will join your church.

I see no one has taken me up on this challenge.
Connie, I am new to this website and am no debater. But I do know that I have chosen to accept the Bible and only the Bible as my source of truth. Living Truth.

The Mormom Church has much to offer in way of example on how Christians should be living their lives and christiandom will have much to answer for one day. However, there are enough discrepancies in their doctrinal beliefs to make me be willing to stay with traditional Christianity, even though we (hubby and I) feel so very alone so much of the time (due to the infiltration into the church by the world.) We do not attend church anywhere.

However, scriptures do tell us, just as one very clear example, that there will neither be marriage, nor given in marriage, in heaven. That alone is enough to make me very suspect of the many things the LDS requires of its followers and embraces. Jesus is very simple. He alone on the cross -- for us. For our sins. Period.

Books have been written with legitimate debates refuting many of the teachings of the LDS. I am not smart enough to even begin to get into further debate. But I am assured that our Lord Jesus sees your heart and will be faithful to you in your efforts to know Him.

I hope you find the peace you are searching for.

Hi Connie,

I'm sorry for not responding but I did not see your post until now, when Charlotte's response was on the main page. I'm flattered to be named in your sardonic best and brightest in all of Christianity list.

I watched your video, it was not inspired. You only thought it was because it agreed with what you've been taught. You are totally indoctrinated to the point of being brainwashed and I'm sure you make you teachers proud in how you can parrot all those good mormon answers they taught you.

I don't have a church for you to join, wouldn't ask you to join one. So no, I can't take your challenge seriously, I can't think of one human organization that I would recommend, especially one that requires they do your thinking for you. I think those kind of institutions are scary and I stay away from them.
scriptures on marriage We use these verses too to explain that there can be no marriage vows in heaven. Marriage has to be taken care of on earth. That is why we build temples. The last reference, if opened goes into greater detail on our strictness in marriage. Not everyone who is married for eternity actually is.

I realize we differ, and I'm not here to debate either. I appreciate your response, and am glad you accept the Bible. I can't think of the name of this book but I heard last week that someone is promoting the idea that we should all take the 30 day challenge of reading the Bible and praying every morning for 30 days, and then evaluate if it has made a difference in your life. The Bible is powerful, and when we are serious about reading it and praying about it, good things happen.

So what's the challenge? You are obviously thoroughly convinced that what you believe is true. If you sincerely wished to discuss truth, then let us discuss truth, but a video alleging that say taking your sweetheart to a Morman Temple is superior to taking him to another church of serious committed believers, is not even a place to start. This man spoke of visions experienced by Mr. Smith as proof that what the rest of has has is inferior, that is just so much bunk. Joel prophesied that in the last days that men would dream dreams and have visions, did that mean that all those visionaries should go out and start their own new religions?
Actually scipture says "neither marriage nor given in marriage" -- will be in heaven. However, like I said, I'm not a debater.

Nor am I going to say there will be no Mormons in heaven, which I know many mainstream Christians believe. I am convinced that God and God alone will make that final decision for each of us. He and He alone knows our hearts.

What I do know is that following Jesus allows one more freedom in life than any other religious exercise I can think of. He is not about days and rituals and rules; rather He is about a life lived with Him at the center rather than myself and my needs and desires. And that is truly freeing.

Very few professing Christians experience this, however, for they do not have a vision of how pride and arrogance destroy us as well as our families and relationships with friends. And we love our pride and principles. And deny our arrogance. Satan is a liar and comes to us a an Angel of Light. Anything more than Jesus moves us into a legalistic religious mindset that ultimately does more harm than good.

I will repeat what I said in my last comment and that is that I hope you will find the peace you are looking for.

Yes, What Julia Said!

Yes, I can!

1). I don’t need priests: Jesus Himself is my personal Priest.
(Hebrews 7:20-27 and Hebrews 10:19-23)

2). I don’t need temples that is made with hands: I am a temple myself. I am a temple made without hands, a temple of a Holy Ghost and He dwells in me.
(1 Corinthians 3:16-17, 2 Corinthians 6:16-18 and Mark 14:58)

3). I don’t need a brotherhood of Zien: I have a brotherhood and sisterhood of many saints affined with me in Christ Jesus, our Lord.

4). I don’t need book of Mormon: I have Holy Ghost and Scriptures.

Also: I am a child of Living God - Creator of heaven and earth. I am a coheiress with King of Kings and Lord of Lords. Father, Son and Holy Ghost are in me and I am in them (John 14:15-27). I am a Bride (aka the Church, aka the Body, aka the Temple, aka New Jerusalem) of Jesus Christ Himself, our Lord and Savior, Creator of heaven and earth. I also know the secrets of the WAY! I know the TRUTH (the pure truth). And I have LIFE. And to add to all that, I don’t even have to make-up things, or imaginary characters, events or story.

Now, can you bit that? Because if you can…

My sincere prayers for all of you!

Great words, Julia and Sandy. Thanks for putting it so clearly. Connie, I pray you can hear and receive what's been shared. Don't judge true Christianity by the failings you see in the lives of people. Judge Mormonism against true scripture, not "interpretations." Julia said it very clearly, as did Sandy. Make Jesus your first focus. He truly will take care of the rest.
