A Short History
A Short History
A lot of us moved to Jacksonville from all over the country to be a part of a House Church training that started in the year 2000. You might ask "What is a House Church training?" I don't really know what it is but what happened was a time of learning and un-learning a lot of what we had known of "Church." A church planter, taught us WHO WE ARE IN CHRIST, that without freedom the Church will die and how to function without a traditional pastor/leader figure. You might be surprised how dependent we Christians have become of having someone tell us what to do. The foundation the Lord used the church planter to lay led us to depend on the Lord and not a man. This church planter did what he said he was working toward, and that was "work himself out of a job." Now we are on our own and functioning as a group of people that have been built together to explore and worship our Lord. We are simply brothers and sisters, children of God and we NOW TAKE THE TIME TO ASK HIM ABOUT WHAT DO. Since we started to meet, others have been added to this family, and with each addition we grow in our expression of our Lord. For us our meetings are not a place where we sit and are entertained nor are they classrooms where we are instructed how to live. It is simply time together where we might sing or share our daily lives and experiences in this world and in the realm where the Spirit flows free. Our style of meeting is more like a family dinner time than an evening out at the Club. Come and see! We always welcome those who want more.
