DFW Simple Church Picnic in October at White Rock Lake

We have confirmed the date for the DFW area wide picnic at White Rock Lake. It will be on Sunday October 11th from 11 am to 3 pm:

11AM - Meet and setup
11:30 - Eat and visit (potluck food theme)
1:00 - Time for singing with designated folks selecting and leading songs with printed songs
2:00 - Time for sharing updates on groups that are meeting around metroplex
3:00 - Time for prayer, words from the Lord, etc

All simple church and non-simple church people are welcome to come!

More details on pavillion location to follow.

Bill, I really want to come to this. I would love to do something in between Dallas and Fort Worth next time. River Legacy has some nice facilities and is between both. I can imagine that people coming from the far West will probably not make it to White Rock Lake.

What do we need to do/bring?

Hi Bill,
It seems like I run into an obstacle (not necessarily a bad one) every time you schedule something. My daughter-in-law will be delivering twin boys very close to that date and I can't commit.
Because this is so much closer to our home, I was really hoping we could attend. I still will if it works out. If we are not there, we are probably enjoying our new grandbabies or are waiting for them to arrive.

Cathy - we have started to do two picnics each year. The first one was at River Legacy Park in May and the second one will be at White Rock Lake in October. The first one is more for the mid-cities and Fort Worth people while the second one is more for the Dallas/Richardson/Plano/Garland group.

Jim - no problem on that. Congratulations on the new grandsons that are soon to be here !

Cathy - bring food for your family to eat. We will provide some drinks, plates, napkins and plastic ware.

Ok - here are more details on the picnic:

We will be meeting in one of the two picnic areas just east of the parking lot around the Big Thickett recreational building. These are first-come picnic areas, so we aren't sure exactly which one we will get.

Directions: From NW Hwy (Loop 12) and Buckner Blvd, go south on Buckner Blvd, exit Mockingbird Ln and go west (right). Immediately exit for E. Lawther and turn south (right). Follow the road around to the Big Thickett building which is on the left. It is the only building with a parking lot on that stretch of road.
