Welcome

We are 12 year veterans of Home Education. My heart is to see those that are struggling receive support and encouragement. And to see the veterans of home education connect. Many give up almost before they get started.

You can do this. You are able. Just like in simple church, you need to put all the junk aside and re-imagine school.

School is not where we go to. It is always learning and growing. There is a lesson in every task, assignment, in life itself!

Let's enjoy the journey together as we fulfill our call to educate our children at home.

Hi,
We are finishing up our 17 years of unschooling here in our home. We've had 3 others who have "graduated" from our unschool and the last one does so this year. I am an ardent and passionate unschooler! A friend found and sent your blog and I love it! Thanks.

Welcome Angel. I was homeschooled myself also - only it was in elementary school. My parents forced me into a Christian high school - didn't care much for it, but I HATED the Christian jr. high!

Hello, we are Dennis and Tammy Engelbert. We have 4 kids ages 3,5,6, and 8. We have home schooled from the beginning, and I still feel like I'm just getting my feet wet. I appreciate any and all encouragement from this place. I look forward to learning from some of you veterans.

Hi all. We are Traci and Mike. The kids are now 11, 13, and 16 all home educated from the start. For those posts about kids struggling with Math, we tried many different curriculums ourselves, but found Math-U-See to work best for us. For our eldest daughter since she reached high-school age we have continued using Math•U•See but enhance the teaching through a co-op learning environment. If you would like to know more about Math-U-See, please feel free to contact us.

By the way, we would like to think of ourselves as very flexible and creative home schoolers, but certainly more traditional than what seems to be the common definition of unschoolers. We have our struggles on occasion, but overall we feel so very blessed.
