Beloved of His Majesty. This is not really a "discussion" as much as it is a place to come and meditate on the names of our Lord Jesus Christ. Brother Daniel Markoya sent this to me today and I thought it would be good to post it here. Each name is another facet of our Lord's glory! Lord Jesus, I praise You for You are the image of the invisible God, the firstborn over all creation. By You all things were created: things in Heaven and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or powers or rules or authorities; all things were created by You and for You. You are before all things, and in You all things hold together. Praise You, Lord, Your name is precious to me, Creator God! Because Your love is better than life, My lips will glorify Your name! I will praise You as long as I live; I will lift up my hands in Your name! Amen
Creator - One who plans and makes something totally original and out of nothing.
Creation is ....
God,
flexing His infinite mind
to dream up the farthest reaches of the seas,
the highest pinnacles of the mountain summits,
the minutest particles of sand
and atoms and cells
that swim in microscopic universes of life.
Creation is ....
God,
shouting over vast empty echo chambers,
ageless chasms of cosmic without form and void
"Let there be firmament and waters ...
"Let there be land and vegetation ...
"Let there be sun and moon and stars ...
"Let there be birds to fly and fish to swim ...
"Let there be living creatures, great and small ...
Creation is ...
God,
stooping to the dampish sands,
dirtying celestial hands with the dust of a newly born earth,
shaping, forming, carving, smoothing, breathing,
birthing a creature unique
from every other voice-sparked being
already bringing
life and color and fascination
to the living sphere of His fond Father-heart
He'd set to spinning in a mighty palm.
Remarkable non-like-him created being
is as like Himself as if He gazed into a mirror
and watched it
reflect back to His sparkling eyes,
with senses to perceive it all,
powers of reason, intelligence and passion to enjoy and rule,
an urge for communion, purpose and
Creation!
Creation is ...
God,
lullabying man,
this crowning act of workmanship,
into a deep slumber to numb all awareness,
then with fingers of a skilled surgeon,
removing a rib from next to a heart
that beats to the rhythm of the universe,
forming it into one more exquisite creature -
Woman -
wedding her to a stammery-delighted Adam
for companionship and perpetuation
of a species too precious to imagine,
too valuable to let go.
Creation is ...
God,
contemplating, surveying, deciding
"It is good - very, very good!"
Dancing the dance of holy celebration
in the meadows of Eden
then sitting,
enraptured,
on the circle of the earth,
resting on the seventh day
from all the works that He has crafted,
setting that day forever apart
to celebrate the wondrous joy of
Creation!
