We live in this area and just wondering if there are any folks getting together for fellowship or worship on a regular basis.

MJN,

Last October, I created a Google Map of everyone at SimpleChurch.com in NC. You will find a link to that map in a discussion called "Where are we?" At that time, there was no one in the immediate Greenville area. However, I haven't updated that map since November or December, and the size of this group has doubled since then.

Hi, MJN~

My name is Ann and my husband and I live in Greenville, NC. We attend a "small group" gathering of eight adults and six children (who attend on a regular basis). We have been meeting together for about four or five years. We always share a meal together at every meeting, then we leave the rest to the leading/guidance of the Holy Spirit. It is fully participatory.

Our members range in age from 2 to 65. Some of us have left the IC completely; others still attend an IC regularly and are committed to it. We're all just sharing our journey with each other, encouraging and supporting each other~ and, most importantly, seeking to be the hands and feet of Christ.

Please let me know more about the type of group you are interested in, and feel free to ask questions about ours. We normally get together twice a month, but our next meeting has been canceled due to illness and travel. It's always nice to have an opportunity to meet fellow travelers!

Hi Ann,

Thanks for responding to my question. We have been out of IC for five years. We were worshipping with some families in Goldsboro, but moved to Ayden 2.5 years ago. Goldsboro is too far to drive. We worshipped with some friends in G'ville until the moved to VA. We've been contemplating trying to find a group. I have just been diagnosed with lung cancer, so I'm not sure what kind of commitment we are able to make at this time. Twice a month sounds good though. We are a homeschooling family with three children, ages 11, 14, and 18. My dh and I are in our mid 40's. Could you tell me where ya'll meet, what time? Not sure what else to ask at this point, but so glad you responded. Perhaps we can meet soon.

Blessings,

Molly

Hi, Molly!

Our group usually meets on the 2nd and 4th Fridays of each month. The last few months we have met in the homes of two of our member families~either near Chicod or near Stokes. Both of these families homeschool, by the way as did my husband and I for several years. (We were homeschooling grandparents, but now are in a more supportive role.)

We begin by sharing a meal at 7pm. Following the meal we let the Holy Spirit lead. There have been nights when we have done a Bible study or discussed a passage that the Lord has laid on someone's heart or possibly a passage that has been particularly meaningful that week. At other times we've all read a book (such as "The Shack") and discussed that. We had a gathering recently where a young couple that spent about a year and a half walking to Peru shared with us their story of faith. (www.ourwalkoffaith.com) Sometimes someone has heard of a need, and we discuss how we might be of help. We do not have a planned program, and over the years the meetings have taken many forms.

I am so sorry that you are facing a health challenge at the moment, but please know that we will pray for strength and for healing as you deal with this situation. Please know that you and your family are more than welcome to join us whenever you can!

Blessings~

Thanks, Ann, for the information. Sounds likes a group we would be interested in. Can you tell me the ages of the children that are coming? Could you tell me the last names of the homeschoolers? Ours is Nichols, btw. It would be cool if there are homeschoolers going that we already know. Finding likeminded folks in this day and time is quite a challenge. I like that you meet on Fridays twice a month. That might be doable. Thank you for the prayers as well.

Blessings,

Molly
Hi, Molly!

One of our homeschooling families is here on SimpleChurch.com--Gwin & Michael Joyner. The other homeschooling family are the Fairbanks. In terms of the ages of the children, we have one who is 15/16, two between the ages of 11-13, one who is 8, one who is 3-4, and one who is around 2.

We look forward to possibly having the chance to meet you!

Blessings~
Ann

Beloved. My two sons and I are thinking about moving to North Carolina.
I wanted to let you know that my children and I believe there is one God whose name is Jehovah, one Lord, Jesus, who died for us, resurrected and now is on the right hand of the father. One Spirit, the Holy Spirit of God. One faith and one baptism. Besides that our only guide is the word of God which is useful for teaching, correcting, rebuking and training in righteousness so that man reaches the fullness of a perfect man to the heights of God in Christ Jesus. We believe the church is the body of Christ and that their growth depends on building and sharing among its members as this is fed through the rich supply between the joints. We further believe that the church is first local and then universal and that his name is given by the locality where the saints meet Christ. That the apostolic office is current and that the Holy Spirit is manifested through the gifts. We are also confident that the end was near, that this is the time and now the true worshipers must worship in spirit and in truth.

We want to wholeheartedly share with the brothers of the church. We've been all this time relying on our helper, understanding that it is He who builds his church. We need contact with the brothers in North Carolina. This is our number (305) -834-6098.

Receive a hug and the blessing of God.

Marelys Leyva and sons(Gadiel and Abiel)
