Kurt,

I'm glad that you joined. I set up the group so that anyone can join. I also would like to add others as administrators. So, if you would like to be an admin, let me know.

Invite your friends to join this group. You can also invite people with ties to NC, even if they don't currently live in NC.

My name is Gary Harris. I work with Alan at Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary. I graduated with an M.Div from Southeastern in May '07. I wish I understood what it means to BE the church as opposed to what it means to go to the church.

Hello,
My husband Tom and I live in Apex NC and are happy to join your group!

I currently shepherd a small fellowship across the line in North Georgia. While not house based, we consider ourselves simple, and seek to encourage others who are pursuing a more organic expression of what it means to be the church.

John,
I'm part of a "hybrid" (my term for it) group as well. We do not meet in houses primarily, but we also seek organic and simple expressions of church.

My name is David Davis. My wife and I have lived in Boone, NC for 31 yrs. and 29 years respectively. We have been married for 27 years --five children and two grandchildren (not twins) arrive over the next two months!
We left organized church 11 years ago, when I openly spoke of not believing in a head pastor any more. No one in the group could bring themselves to discuss this idea. I became the associate pastor out of left field. After four months of impasse, we left.

We have a small group with whom we fellowship. We make the dinner table our meeting place and call ourselves the FAT fellowship--for Family Around the Table. We truly enjoy some FAT times, though we only eat moderately of natural food!!

I'm glad to find this group. I live in Gastonia, NC, just west of Charlotte. I look forward to making connections with other simple church-minded Christians!

Finding this group has been an answer to my prayer for finding other Christians who want to experience organic Christianity. I am very excited to learn that there is already a group in Boone as I live in Banner Elk (a mere 17 miles from Boone!)
Thank you, Alan for inviting me to join. I can hardly wait to see what the LORD is going to do with this group!

Cool. I think this is cool. I mean, it's not weird is it? Organic, home, simple church is my heart, and my wife's heart. I hope there is a community around Apex, NC! If not yet, there will be soon. Looking forward to meeting you all, whoever you are.
