My name is A.J. Martinez and I am 22 years old and have been involved in the leadership of a great church here in North Omaha called Bridge. Over the past few years the leadership has been great in giving me freedom to think outside the box with lots of things. Through a lot of prayer and dialogue and cooperation with my current mentor/leader, my wife and I and our two kids have decided to embark on a new journey and leave the institutionalized church. With all that to say I am looking forward to the horizon that God is bringing us to. I just wanted to stop by and say hi to all the Omaha Area House Churches.

Welcome to the group AJ! Hope to meet you sometime soon.

I don't know anything about the Bridge, but if their leadership was cool with you leaving the box, I'd say your experience is rather unusual. Many of us either departed the IC through painful circumstances, or were demonized as heretics and troublemakers when we dared to believe that God Himself was calling us out. But Father is faithful, and through these experiences has revealed himself do us in ever deeper, more intimate ways.

May you also grow powerfully in the knowledge of His fellowship and affection as you journey with Him.

We can point you to some simple church groups in your area if you're interested, or if you're planning to start some kind of fellowship of your own, please let us know how we can encourage or resource you, or just be connected. Visit www.worshipwithoutwalls.us or www.tuesdaytogether.us for more info on some of Omaha's house churches.

Blessings,
~kyle
AJ, thanks for the post. May the Lord give you and your wife everything you need to follow where He leads. For many of us, leaving the IC was not easy, but the Lord has been faithful at every step. Kyle and Gail Knapp are wonderful friends of ours and they host a fellowship in their home in Ponca Hills on Tuesday evenings. Marsha and I host a fellowship in our home in the Florence area of Omaha on every other Saturday night (we are meeting this week). There is a new fellowship in the Keystone area that that just started meeting in a friend's home on Sunday mornings. If you and your family are interested, you are more than welcome to visit any or all of the fellowships. Seeing what other people were doing helped us in our journey. Each fellowship is different but they all are made up of people that love the Lord and desire relationships. Many of us will drop in on each other and it has been a real joy to gather in different settings.

If there is anything we can do to encourage you, please let us know.

Peace,

Martin & Marsha Conroy
