this is worth a look
ebony sent it to me
it is of course - fundamentally flawed - but has some good points regarding black and white thinknig
and as I am always on the lookout for useful material for future dialogs - this is a great find - it's important for us to hear what those who do not believe in God - say regarding their constructs

Comment by Nickolas Hiemstra on January 11, 2011 at 7:33pm Interesing video but I think they are trying to "think" it out too much, and complicating the whole thing. I don't feel it is MY responsibility to "prove" the existence of "God." As Paul said, "The evidence surrounds you."
A perfect example is with my friend Rob. He used to refer to himself as an atheist. He believed what you see, is what you get. Over a couple of years working together and becoming good friends and some excellent conversations, he eventually began referring to himself as an agnostic . . . he was will to accept that there was a "God" of some type, but he wasn't "knowable."
At our twins' graduation, he pulled me aside (and still holding to his agnostic views) asked me to pray for one of his students who was always being picked-on (my friend is a special-ed teacher). He said, "I can't explain it, but I've known you for quite awhile and I have seen something different about you and your family . . . I think you really know this God you told me about . . . and I want _________ (and he told me the student's name) to get a fighting chance with all the bullies . . . and I think your God can help him . . ."
I've never considered evaluating his views regarding the existence of God, nor have I argued with him about it. I was simply his friend . . . the rest is up to the Holy Spirit.

Comment by mike brooks on January 11, 2011 at 7:47pm thanks for the stroy nickolas
i think it is worth looking at - the video - but as you say - there is probably an element of overcomplicating the issue - faith cannot be reasoned into or out of existence - glad you were there for your friend
