Chisinau (R.Moldova) is also represented in this great orientation of Christian ministry. We greet you all, in the Name of the Lord!
Our name is CCC, the Community of Christ from Chisinau (based on Romans 16.16), and we are an association of a few house groups (located into the city and suburbs). It's great to have this opportunity to contact and meet some of you. Be blessed!

Hi Everyone,
I have lived and served as a missionary in Kiev, Ukraine for the past 11 years. God is really opening many doors in the Russian speaking world for the making of disciples and planting of simple churches. We have a website that is in both English and Russian- www.simplechurch.com.ua I look forward to interacting with others here who have a heart for this part of the world.

I live in the U.S. but have been to Ukraine 3 times and am interested in seeing simple church take root there and growing. I was last there in 2006 for 5 weeks. My wife Rose and I host a house church here in Savannah, Georgia.

Simple churches take on many flavors - also in Europe - from pews in the living room to sofas in church buildings. It's not the box but the content that matters. For me the challenge continues to be finding the time for organic relationships to be built while I look for time with family, school and being away for work. The Lord is building His church. And she will be pure and arrayed in fine linen. For this I am thankful.

Here's the most recent articles my husband has written. The German part is a babelfish translation.

I have been working in Germany for four and a half years and have been living here for just over a year. During that time we have seen interest in the House Church or Simple Church Movement grow substantially. We have heard from many parts of the country about new groups, or groups that people did not know existed before. so many good things are happening. However, we are constantly hearing that "House churches won't work here", "People here need pastors to take responsibility", "Germans love institutional structures" or even "Germans aren't ready for deep relationships". Some folk are crying out for house church, yet having heard the above statements have been discouraged, others have started a group, and yet when some fall away, are discouraged and stop meeting. At the same time various folk, who right or wrong feel led to take a lead, and impose that leadership on the whole church. This has led to many in the institutional church, labeling the house church and simple church movement as being for rebellious, or sectarian people. Those of us who have spent some years in the movement know that this is just not true, and that the folk in House church are generally deeply committed Christians who are seeking a deeper walk both with Christ and their Christian brothers and sisters.

Now as we are drawing to the close of 2008, we have entered into a time of economic darkness, a time of unprecedented world economic crisis. Many in the world are seeking answers in their hopelessness. After the total collapse of the Icelandic economy the other week, a friend in the house churches there said, "We are waiting for the great influx of people, who now have no hope elsewhere". Here in Germany we see a similar situation, people in the poorest parts of society are loosing hope. There are few jobs for our young people, and those that there are demand long and often irrelevant training periods at low pay. The elderly are seeing the buying power of their pensions diminish. Just yesterday Jeanne and I witnessed the saddest thing, the local food bank (Tafel), had told a young immigrant that he couldn't collect food for his mother, she had to come herself. So he had returned with his elderly crippled mother, only to be told that they would only deal with three more people that day and ther would have to return in two days time. The hopeless young man pleaded in vain as they had no food, but the manager just said that it was not his problem. They had the food, but were bogged down in their own bureaucracy. Even better off members of society are fearing for their job security, and are now shopping in Aldi. Other well-off friends are taking their money from banks, selling dubious shares and buying gold and silver. Their wealth which gave security in the past is now proving a basis for insecurity. Where will people look for hope?

In the past, during times of hardship and doubt, folk have traditionally looked to the Church for spiritual answers. Yet in today's society the church is increasingly seen as an irrelevant. People are leaving the traditional churches in droves. Were it not for the church tax paid by many here, the German Catholic and Evangelical (Lutheran) Churches here would be totally bankrupt. Although Christians here are traditionally generous churches from other denominations are seeing their own financial meltdown, as folk are leaving. Some churches are seeing a little growth, but even that is slowing down. The hedonism and materialism of our society has proved bankrupt when it comes to answering the needs of Germany. So where are people looking for spiritual answers? Increasingly they look to "New Age" or esoteric religions, which opens them to real danger from the enemy. Some young immigrants have looked to the Islam of their parents, and are increasingly being sucked into radical fundamentalism. Where are the real "salty" Christians who will make the difference? The other day a young man said to me, "Tell me more about Jesus, He's cool. But I don't want any more of that Church crap". His sentiment seems to be wide spread. JESUS IS THE ANSWER! not a church or denomination.

How can we present Jesus as the true answer for the needs of our society? First, we must see that Jesus is the sufficient answer to our needs. In the problems that Jeanne and I have been through in the past two years, have only been bearable as we put our trust in the LORD, He has helped us through this time. Jesus wants to meet you in your needs too, submit yourself to Him in trust, He will respond. Then when you speak to others speak about Him, not the church, nor any program or doctrine. Jesus is the Good News! He is the Way, the Truth and the Life. As we know Jesus, He will lead us in to a radical lifestyle, which in turn will lead us into radical relationships with other members of His Body. This Body has just one head, Jesus himself. As we, the components of His Body learn to hear Him and respond to Him, the Body will become stronger, and more able to overcome both the enemy and the world system which seeks to bring us down. We must learn to work together as a body.

If we are really going to express the Body of Christ, we need to come into a real place of trust with our brothers and sisters, and this will only come from a base of real relationships deep and lasting friendships, that will not be broken by the shaking that the world is experiencing at the moment. These relationships could never be institutional, but rather need to come about organically as we join together with those that the Lord himself is bringing into our lives. part of the reason for the demise of the church can be seen in the scripture, Psa 127:1a "Unless the LORD builds the house, its builders labor in vain." For so long the church has been mans domain. We even talk aaabout men as "church-planters", yet the scriptures say the Lord builds the house, not men. So lets trust the Lord to build his Church, His Body. These will be small groups who relate together in a deep way. inturn these groups will be open to other similar groups, relating together as the local church. As such we will be able to share real answers to those who are loosing their hope.

Wie können wir Jesus als die wahre Antwort auf die Bedürfnisse unserer Gesellschaft? Erstens, wir müssen sehen, dass Jesus ist die ausreichende Antwort auf unsere Bedürfnisse. In den Problemen, Jeanne und ich wurden durch die in den vergangenen zwei Jahren, wurden nur erträglich, wie wir unser Vertrauen auf den Herrn, Er hat uns geholfen, über diese Zeit. Diese werden kleine Gruppen, die sich zusammen in einer tiefen Weg. INTURN dieser Gruppen wird offen für andere ähnliche Gruppen, die sich zusammen wie die lokale Kirche. Als solche werden wir in der Lage zu teilen echte Antworten auf diejenigen, die ihre Hoffnung zu verlieren.

But remember, we are already working on simple churches since 7 years. I think it started in Germany around 2000 with the book from Wolgang Simson.
