We (my family, my wife's parents, and my wife's sister's family) left institutional church to start an organic house church network in Columbia, SC at the beginning of 2007. We are still very much learning the whats, hows, and whys of the journey. We would really enjoy meeting others on this journey in South Carolina.
So if you live in SC and are interested in journeying with other people who are seeking to live like Jesus outside of institutions, programs, and strategies, join in.

Hello all. My Bride and I have been out of the IC a few years now. We really were burned very badly and are just now coming back to LIFE. We have joined forces with some others in the area. We will add more later. We are working on setting up a special meeting in our home and when we get closer to this we will let you all know. Remember you are part of the Body of Christ and He is the Head no one else!

Hi, Family

Faye and I have been gathering as the church in homes for a long time. We used to go to boarding homes and have church with the people there who are forgotten and cast aside. They really make you feel like you are Jesus when you show up. I suppose that is because He shows up in you that way...

We felt led to plant a cell congregation and tried it for a few years a few years ago. Finding leadership who can handle having vision is a bit of a challenge if you want them to be Believers already. It would probably be easier to start with unbelievers. We finally had a service and buried that vision.

We have been in a fellowship for a year or so that calls itself a Bible study and has no vision for ministry really. Two of the three leaders just announced their intentions of moving to Central America to escape the coming economic collapse. We will miss them...

Still expecting that we will have the privilege of planting some congregations that intentionally plant congregations. Maybe with all the visionless leadership down in Central America there will be an opportunity to move forward with some of the recent crowd.

We like open church. Faye's ministry is primarily intercession. We like to praise God for hours at a time sometimes. There are some songs on our page.

Be blessed to be the house of the Living God every chance you get, in Jesus name and power.

Well it looks like the majority of us are in the looking for/just starting an organic house church phase here in SC. We are not real sure if we consider ourselves an actual church at this point or if we are just a group of people pursuing organic Christian living at this stage (we aren't really very concerned either way), but we would like to join with others who are pursuing organic Christian life, especially since we are physical family as well as spiritual family. We are primarily focusing on reaching out to those who need Jesus and our initial goal is to see each family leading a house church as we see people come to salvation and have a network of house churches.
In light of where we all are at in our organic journeys, I would like to propose that we consider having a statewide organic church gathering for fellowship, worship, prayer, to share ideas and insights, potential partnering in ministry, and to hear each others stories. We could plan something anywhere from once a month to once a quarter. SC is small enough that it would not need to be an overnight thing. We would be willing to host the first one in Columbia (Cola is nice in that it is centrally located in the state). With the holidays coming, I wonder if we should wait until mid to late January, although an organic gathering to celebrate Christmas would be a great idea as well. Any thoughts

Yes, I think that we need to connect at least via Internet to start with. I think as we get the word out about "SimpleChurch" to others in the state that we can get many others interested in joining. As the total group grows I can see a real network of support and fellowship developing.

By the way, I work with a guy from North that is a fire fighter at the SRS Fire Department I work at.

God Bless You!

Sorry to hear that. I am not sure of other places. At the Savannah River Site we are hearing of a possible reduction in force coming soon. You may try BridgeStone. I don't know if they have an opening at this time but it would not hurt to look them up.

You may want to try the MOX facility on the Savannah River Site as well. They had been hiring a lot during construction. I don't know if your husband has the kind of engeering degree they look for but it would not hurt to try it. MOX is about the only area that is growning on site.

I don't know of any places to suggest, but we will keep it in prayer for ya'll.
