Mine Eye . . .

And David went up from thence, and dwelt in the strongholds at Engedi. 1 Samuel 23:29

I opened my Bible with anticipation. Intent on following the discourse that had caught my eye the final few moments of my wakefulness the night before, my mind raced to recall the address of the portion of Scripture I had read. As my brain whirred and clicked, my eyes fell on the page my Bible had opened to. The incident where David cuts off a portion of Saul's skirt.

Engedi.

That Wayward One.

The servant of the Lord must not strive; but be gentle unto all men, apt to teach, patient, in meekness instructing those that oppose themselves; if God peradventure will give them repentance to the acknowledging of the truth; and that they may recover themselves out of the snare of the devil, who are taken captive by him at his will. 2 Timothy 2:24-26

One of the most powerful prayers we can pray on behalf of another is the request: "Father, grant ______ repentance." It is… Continue

To Be Known Of Him

Nevertheless, among the chief rulers also many believed on Him; but because of the Pharisees they did not confess Him, lest they should be put out of the synagouge: for they loved the praise of men more than the praise of God. John 12:42-43

John's words struck me this morning. many believed, but did not confess Him. The passage in Romans immediately came to my mind:

If thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised hiContinue

Changing Lanes

But the righteous shall live by faith. Romans 1:17

The reminder came gently to me as I lay my head on the pillow, exhausted from a full day; my head full of thoughts and wondering, considerings and musings.

The Holy Spirit continued exposing my heart to me.

In a flash, I understood that earlier in the day, I had been denying my very own petition before Him by the words of my mouth. I was not standing in the faith that He would do as He promised He would: give wisdom, undertanding, and… Continue

Regarding Iniquity . . .

If I regard iniquity in my heart, the Lord will not hear me . . . Psalm 66:18

regard: to look at, to see, observe, consider
iniquity: emptiness, vanity, wickedness, idolatry

"Do you not fear Me?" saith the Lord. "Will you not tremble at My presence, which have placed the sand for the bound of the sea by a perpetual decree, that it cannot pass; and thought the waves thereof toss themselves, yet cannot they prevail, though they roar, they cannot pass over it. BuContinue

i'm from bandung, west java..
basicly, i grew up in a local congress chruch, but i've learned that christianity is a simple lifestyle..
the Christianity in my area still residing in "going to the chruch and find His blessing" paradigm..
now i went out from "my chruch system"..become a simple guy, with no program, no administration, no money system..just build a community like Jesus:) i hope we can share the life each other..

Sorry, I forgot to say I'm not yet in a local fellowship. I have found a local church to me, but I've been through a long illness recently and have not had the opportunity to attend. God has since pointed me to SimpleChurch through Laura S.

Have a great day!

Blessings,

Steve

Thank you for the welcome. It is great to be among such committed believers.

I'm still finding my way at the moment, I've made the mistake before of running before I can walk. I enjoyed reading your post on scripture and those who posted in return. But as I am not yet familiar with His word - in other words I'm not able to quote scripture off the top of my head, so to speak.

It is great to view the coments of those more experienced Christians and give a great lead to a newby.

Keep up the good work.

Blessings to you,

Steve
