A Joke

Women are like phones...
They like to be held, talked to, and touched often.
But push the wrong button and you are disconnected.

FLASH FLOODING - Cagayn De Oro Philippines

We visited this city less than a month ago...

It is NOT the wet season.

Please pray as houses have been lost...

So far (PRAISE GOD) no loss of life has been reported.

Some reports...…

Sowing Seed

Many years ago I heard an excellent rendition on the Sower and seed.

While the talk went on, I saw myself actually failing in this assignment...

It came to the part of the birds taking the seed...

I saw myself chasing after the bird - wanting the seed back.

I raced through the scrub being scratched by branches, tripping over rocks and skinning my hands and knees etc.

The pain I suffered in trying to get the seed back to the good soil was immense.

It was true… Continue

PHILIPPINES 2008

God Made A Way…

It is a beautiful thing to see God’s Agenda being laid out in front of you and as you walk you see He is at work.

We were at the Manilla Airport and the same man who had defrauded my husband in June was also there, once again he was trying to block our way. After a small commotion, a woman in a jacket turned up and put this man to one side, clearing the way for our group to pass.

There were 53 people, majority were families, all travelling together.… Continue

Some basic info...

Both my children go to school, ages 16 and 13.

I became a believer at 22 and married at 25.

I've been married to my wonderful man for 19yrs.

Do the math... and my age is???

The house church journey has been a learning; unlearning and re-learning curve for us.

We started out with getting together with others that had left church - once a week we met for one month at the same home.

This was based on Ralph Neighbor - cell church - getting back to… Continue

Hi All,
Glad to see an open forum... love people's stories!
Life in Simple Church is unique, highs and lows, stretched and isolating.
Been on the journey since 1995... still learning not to sweat the small stuff!

Personally, I am married; blessed with 2 adults in training.
We'll all be visiting the Philippines as a family in Nov/Dec 2008...
My comfort zone will be challenged yet again!

Hi Annette,

I saw your comment about Lk10. I wasn't sure if you were aware that LK10 is actually a separate Community (from SimpleChurch.com) with it's own website. It is an environment where church planters can connect with and learn from each other. Currently there are about 225 members from 15 countries (including a few from Australia). Check it out at LK10.com Let me know if I can answer any questions about it.

hello Annette,
Thanks for the comment.
Hey, you are on the same team with Phil Lye, right? Were you here in Cagayan last year?
I look forward to talking with you guys... I have tons of questions about micro-churches... what Papa God is doing among you and through you guys is exciting...

Hi Annette my journey is certainly going! It has been a hard, lonely time taking new risks even with "Home Church" but am starting to see the fruit!
Apparently loneliness lends itself to "The Kingly Anointing", Praise God! So I have started as a Chaplain also at 2 local Prim Schs and this is slowly unfolding. Everything this yr has been new & a bit scary after being in the same church up in Perth for 13 yrs!! I knew I had to get OUT but yeh we don't always know at what cost! All worth it tho. Blessings Tess

Would like to hear about you too?
I am living in the far south corner of WA, Augusta. You cant go any further as the road ens & it is the ocean! We are 30mins from Margaret River. Apparently Smiths Wigglesworth prophesied revival would break out in the south west of WA, bring it on Lord!
Be good to hear about you. Tess

Hi Annette I have been "out" only a few months!
So it is all very new, only 7 of us but we are enjoying meeting together, we mainly chat then spend quite a bit of time soaking under worship, really finding God for ourselves at this stage. Some prayer also birthed from the soaking. My husband is from Brisbane, his Mum & brother live in Ferny Grove.

You asked about the Feasts. We attempt to do the main ones listed in Lev at least to what extent as we can (not to the leter but by Spirit). We may not get all the details down but we attempt to get the Spirit of the feasts and look at the Messiah in them.

Sabbath, Passover, Unleaven Bread, First Fruits, Pentecost, Trumpets, Atonement, Tabernacles. We also do Hanukah as did Jesus in John 10:22 (also called the Feast of Lights or Dedication).

In other words, we don't get legalistic with them, but we do feel that they are important and do all point to the Messiah. Jesus did them so we also attempt to do them as best we can and understand them etc.

My wife and I both work as Paramedics with different services and different schedules. Our work schedules that require us to work on Sabbath or on other Feast days at times. So we do our jobs of helping those sick and injuried on the Sabbath just like Jesus healed on the Sabbath etc. There are times when we, because of our work schedules, will have our family Passover meal either a day or two before or after the recognized day. But we attempt to have it in the "season" of the Feast.

This is what we are talking about as far as not to the leter but by the Spirit etc. If nothing else I feel that most would benefit to at least study and recognize the seasons of the Feast and the meanings of them within their personal Spiritual life and then do whatever God leads them to do.

God Bless You!
Joseph

You asked about the feast of Tabernacles? And yes, it seems that maybe this was the time that Jesus may have been born. When he came and "Tabernacle" with us, Emanuel, God with us. We have put up an outdoor dining fly tent and ate under it. It is a kind of harvest celebration. Some even think that our original Thanksgiving in the US might have been this Feast. Anyway, many will camp or try to spend some times out in booths or tents etc during this time and focus on the scriptures and stories of Israel and how they can relate to us today and to Messiah dwelling with us.

Zechariah 14:16-21 indicate that all nations will celebrate this feast....

As far as the celebrating the new moons is concerned, I recognize them and realize that all the feast are timed base of the times of the moon. I am still looking more at this area. I will often look up and see the moon and by it know about what time within the Jewish calendar it is. The feast of Trumpets is a new moon feast. Passover and Tabernacles are during a full moon in the middle of the Jewish month etc.

I thank you for asking these questions. It will get me to take more time to re-read and look at some of these areas again. : )

Hi Annette thanks for your concern re storms, John just phoned his Mum this evening and yes they were hit. John's brother & sister inlaw live upstairs of Johns Mum, they lost alot of food from the freezer & were flooded. They live at 32 Mullacor st, Ferny Grove, not sure how far away that is for you? Not expecting you either to do anything just felt to let you know. They are not Christians so even prayer for their salvation would be great! Nice chatting. Tess
