Our gathering meets every other Saturday from 4pm to whenever. We begin every meeting with a meal. Everyone brings something to share. Its wonderful how we get together and the conversation flows around the dining room table. At some point in the…

bonnie, some nights there are only 3 or 4 of us. the most we've had is 8.. If you have a couple of Christians who will meet with you at first then you could present your idea and desire to be together. We have NO preparation!

That really sounds awesome, nanny! It sounds like it wouldn't be that intense to start one at my home. I mean, you don't really have to prepare that way. And you just have to trust that the Holy Spirit would lead each of you. But the…

Hello Bonnie, I am curious to see the answers to your questions. But I'll give you a synopsis of our gathering of believers,, it's very simple; a few people sitting in our living room chatting and trusting God to lead us. We all know and…

What Does it Look Like?

I have never started a thread here, but I'm very interested in visiting a group of one of yours, if that's allowed. There are no organic churches in my area that I know of. I am just curious to find out what a meeting looks like.Bonnie K. so graciously sent me four books written by Frank Viola, and I have read through the first one, called Pagan Christianity? It was a hard read for me because I was not raised in a church and didn't know what a lot of terms meant. But, it opened my eyes to how…See More

Bonnie, my heart goes out to you. You have a sincere desire to follow the Lord and that is refreshing. Yes, there is a lot of "garbage" being tossed around in the Christian world. Don't worry about the whole "rapture" thing.…

Bonnie! Welcome to SC and most of all welcome to the Body of Christ. Wow! How exciting that you have chosen to give your life to our Lord Jesus Christ. We all celebrate in your decision.

Of course I can humor you. The only stupid questions is the one that doesn't get asked. I do have to apologize for for those of us who use our "secret code" like "IC". LOL. "IC" stands for institutional church". Most of those on this website are people who have heeded the Lord's call to leave the IC and look for a simpler expression of the "church", the Bride of Christ. As for me, I was raised in Baptist Church as a child, but as an adult have been very involved in non-denominational churches such as Hope Chapel and Calvary Chapel.

I gave my life to the Lord almost 42 years ago and my life has been anything but boring ever since. Jesus told us that the path to salvation is through the narrow gate and that the path is difficult. It is our love for our Lord that keeps us going, particularly during times of tribulation.

Frank is one of many authors who have written extensively about doing church in a more simple way without the "one man in charge" philosophy that characterizes most churches today. Since coming out of the IC three years ago, we have been totally blessed with the freedom that we now have.

Each has to choose the path they will follow. If you have any questions, please feel free to ask them.

God bless you and your family.

Hi Bonnie,

Thanx for the comment on my page. Much of what is in the book is reffered to on my blog page.

It truly has to do with a new day we have entered of seeing the fullness of God's purposes for the church fullfilled. But first we must know what god's pupose is for the church and how He is fullfilling it.

What has been built in Christianity has been man way of building what only god can build. Even homechurches to an extent are still "religious" about thier functioning and have not fully embraced the purposes of god for this day. Not out of disobedience, but out of lack of knowledge.

God is building HIMSELF in his people and expressing HIS nature and authority through HIS body. Each part having a function. Simple expressions make it easier to identify and give room for this, but this is not the end Goal. The end Goal of the Lord is UNION/ONENESS with who he is, and even out religious "organicness" can get in the way of that if we lose focus on the goal.

Well, thats a peek... And i will give away the download for the book when it is ready, unless someone asks for it in hardcopy and wants to buy it then.

Bonnie,

I have found a way to be right where I need to be hear exactly what I need to hear, and fellowship with who I need to fellowship. Ask Father Himself. He will guide you.

He says simply, you have not because you ask not. Just ask Him and wait for the answer, He will do it. And listen for his voice, If you have become reconciled through His Son He speaks from within you as you rest yourself in His love. He also speaks through others, but you learn from HIS Spirit who is your teacher.

Do not fear, He completely holds you in His hands. Just ask as a little child and trust that he will withhold no good thing from you HIS beloved. He is the most gracoius loving person in existance. He IS existance, for from Him through Him and to Him are all things.

Hi Bonnie:

You can find a home church in your area by going to this site:

http://www.house2house.com/cgi-bin/gx.cgi/AppLogic+FTContentServer?pagename=FaithHighway/10000/7000/767HO/locate

Also, check with another friend of mine on this site - Bonnie Jaeckle. She lives in Iowa, but I don't know where. She is a very solid Christian and you can trust her.

Good luck and God bless.

Bonnie: I got a chuckle from your message. I too had to learn to zoom in on the map so all the dots weren't so close together. Click on the "+" in the upper left hand corner of the map. You can use your mouse to hold the map and move it over as well. Also, if you just google "house church" you can find other sites where people have their house churches listed. Also, check with Frank Viola. His group is starting a resource as well.

Finally, the best thing to do is to pray that God would reveal to you a group in which you can grow and be part of a true community of believers. Once you find such a group, you will be blessed. That is a promise.

BTW, I agree with Kriston, who left a comment on your page about asking God. Kriston is a good man with a Godly heart. He hears and listens to the truth.

One more thing. As you grow in the Lord, you will learn to hear His voice. I too am a logical thinker, but I've had to put that aside and listen to the Lord. For instance, last year God clearly told me to move to Hickory, NC. I'd never been there before, knew no one there, no job, no nothing. We've learned to be obedient, so we moved from North Idaho all the way to North Carolina last August. My logical side constantly asked "Ok, so why I am here?" In my heart though, I know our Lord told me to come, so I did.

Trust Him Bonnie. Remember prayer is a conversation. Sometimes we need to stop talking while praying and just listen. Hope this makes sense to you.

Bonnie,

Thanx again for your comments on my page. I have learned that the Lord is ALWAYS speaking and longs for us to commune with Him. He is a person, I know that sounds trite to say, but we treat Him as if He is "out there" and we are "down here". And then we act as if He does not speak to us or listens to what we say. But He says behold I am with you ALWAYS.

He is wanting to hold us to just stop long enough to engage with Him. He will speak clearly and guide us. His voice can be peace in our hearts as we go in the direction He leads, it can also be "no peace" when we are going in the wrong direction. We must live and walk by the peace He gives.

He also just answers our questions sometimes with putting us in the right place at the right time and opening doors for us for what we need to enter into.

He will also speak very clearly, so much that We can write down word for word what He is saying, He will also hold conversations with us at times in which He imparts wisdom and understanding, His voice is varied and has a depth painted accross our whole life, We must learn to see the signs and respond to his voice.

but always know most importantly, we don't look outside of ourselves for Him, we look in our hearts to hear the still small voice of the Holy Spirit as He gives us unction and direction.

But what does it say? The word is near thee, even in thy mouth and in thy heart: that is, the word of faith, which we preach,

Thank you, Bonnie. My email is [email protected] and that is very kind of you to help me this way. It's sorta hard to just trust everyone to lead me in the way that's right. I've had so much advise thus far in my new walk. I'll have to tell you about what I'm confused about, since you offered. Christians are so very different in their doctrines, aren't they? I look forward to talking with you and learning of your background.

Bonnie, my heart goes out to you. You have a sincere desire to follow the Lord and that is refreshing. Yes, there is a lot of "garbage" being tossed around in the Christian world. Don't worry about the whole "rapture" thing. Some believe in it, others don't. Its not essential to your daily walk with the Lord. The same goes for a lot of other theological issues. Just stay in God's word and ask Him to speak to you to explain what He is saying. The veil in your heart will be lifted and you will see what God intends for you to hear. Be patient.

Its hard to describe in physical terms when you hear from God. The best way I can describe it is this way. You know sometimes you have some random thoughts just bouncing around in your head and most of the time we just ignore them as random thoughts. Learn to listen to those. You will know when you know.

I'm glad you've hooked up with Bonnie Jaeckle. She will help guide you from a woman's perspective.
