Hi Dave,

Thank you Dave for your response and giving me some insight as to your current and past church experiences.
Sounds to me like you have a good thing going where you are and that you have been able to build good relationships within your church.
I am glad to see that you are open to find and learn about other ways of doing things that is important. The House 2 House website is a good one for information. I have just become a member on the new site, face book style, but I used to visit house2 house years ago.
Basicaly Dave I have been a believer since about 16. Raised Catholic but had a conversion experience and then atternded a house church for nine years which was a charismatic group. After doing some time with a group in Canada on several Indian reservations I came back to the States and became involved with a new church starting in Easton called the Rock Church. My wife and I stayed there for 25 years and did just about everything possible ministry wise.
Like a lot of things, much changes over time and often not for the better.
I was spiritualy dying there and I knew it for years but after building my life there it was hard to leave. Eventualy we did about 4 years ago. My desire was to return to a simplicity of church experience and to start a house church.
We did that for awhile but found little interest for the idea around here.
I travelled and attended various house church conferences and met with many of the current voices in the movement.
I had a group of men that also did a lot of prison meetings and we worked to bring a wholistic spiritual program to the prison reentry type.
Basicaly there are only about 5-6 of us which meet. We have become good friends and our time together is mostly just spending time together usualy eating meals together or working on a project.
I still hope more people will explore house church or whatever you want to call it. My wife attends a large black church occasionaly, but although I have various friends who are Pastors I am really out of the whole church scene. I visit different friends at times at church but am moving completely outside the circles. I have friends in NJ who do house church and we hang out with them occasionaly. Sorry for the long response.
