Michael Is your post a statement of your intent? Are you asking what we think about you DOING this or have I (as I do sometimes) missed your message altogether? Thanks David

David Evans replied to Dena Brehm's discussion 'Freedom From Biblicism'
What would the "Church" look like today if Martin Luther had followed the advice of those who think that we should follow Church hierarchal authority (what I call man made hierarchy ) and submit to his "elders" and followed what…

David Evans replied to Dena Brehm's discussion 'Freedom From Biblicism'
"Christian biblicism is no different from Jewish legalism. It is the old way of the letter, not the new way of the Spirit (Rom. 7:6)." There is no doubt that the same motives that caused the Jews to pick rules and human authority over a…

David Evans replied to Robert Loutzenhiser's discussion 'Simple church and Apostolic church: A comparision'
Robert You and anyone else that is not comfortable connecting with God directly can use a human priest. I am confident that God is patient and will work with that. I however choose to have no man between me and my Father except for the one and only…

David Evans replied to Old Pete's discussion 'The prophetic word given through Huey, a visitor from Trinidad'
Old Pete wrote "I would suggest that diligent study of the Bible alone cannot convey to us a right understanding of who God is – there is a need for the guidance of the Holy Spirit. The bottom line surely, is that true life (knowledge,…

A First

(Wednesday January 28th)

This is my first ever blog entry. I have been invited to blog several times but just did not have any "inner" thoughts I wanted to post. However I think simplechurch.com is going to be the best place for me to join in this cyber world. Currently I meet every Sunday with a group of eight adults, Erin, Don, Sandra, Juanita, Rich, Jaylynn, Theresa and myself. Sometimes we have a few more but these eight are the steady ones. I grew up in organized church (baptist) and… Continue

Hello David! Welcome to SimpleChurch. I'm from Youngsville, NC, just north of Raleigh. We've started a group for people in NC called North Carolina Connections. I hope you decide to join and take part in the discussions there.

Nice try at logic with your post tonight, David. I hope it breaks through, but I wouldn't hold my breath. Keep in mind to Michael the problem is that we are all cultural misinformed regarding the "Jewish" Messiah, Jesus.

Although the teaching of the epistles is that he wiped out the separation of Jew and Gentile and brought them together in "one new man", namely His body. These judaizers want to set up the wall of enmity between us , which is the ordinances of the Law.

I appreciate your gift of patience with this. I am afraid I'm out.

Blessings to you as you seek to serve Him.

gratefully redeemed,

Randy

David:

You ,of course, need to do as the Holy Spirit leads, BUT I would advise just checking out of the two law keeping forums with Michael. The believe he has a spirit of dissention. He is not interested in resolution or compromise. the sooner He has no one to argue with the sooner the forums will fade.

He (actually the spirit in him) is a reviler, an accuser of the brethren and, and blinded by that spirit working within him to entrap the weak and immature. The truth has been well defended by you, Tammie, Jeromy, and I for anyone who reads the forum.

I believe the best we can do now is let them die from lack of argument.

Thanks for the feedback. I hope you travels were enjoyable or profitable depending on their purpose. Thanks for the encouragement. I too have enjoyed reading your post and thoughtful questions in the dialogue.

I note you are nearby in Fayetteville, just 45-60 minutes from us. Perhaps we can meet sometime. Blessings to you as you pursue Him, chasing hard after His heart and purposes.

gratefully redeemed,

Randy

“There shall not any man be able to stand before thee all the days of thy life: as I was with Moses, so I will be with thee: I will not fail thee, nor forsake thee.
Be strong and of a good courage: for unto this people shalt thou divide for an inheritance the land, which I sware unto their fathers to give them.
Only be thou strong and very courageous, that thou mayest observe to do according to all the law, which Moses my servant commanded thee: turn not from it to the right hand or to the left, that thou mayest prosper whithersoever thou goest”.
