My name is Dana Cashwell and I along with my husband Travis, my three kids, Cameron 6 (she's a girl), Madeline 4 and Thomas 3 we left the church 2 years ago to BE the Church. The problem was we didn't know how to do it. Travis and I grew up in church so when we explained to our family, friends and church what God wanted us to do, the majority of them considered us apostates and heretics. Don't get me wrong, they loved us in their way, they just didn't support us.

A year ago, along with some of the friends we had left, started something called So What! Ministries (shameless plug: www.sowhatministries.com). Which was all about getting people off their butt and serving their community/church/family. Then we read Pagan Christianity. Mainly because George Barna was listed as an author. After reading it, we devoured everything that Frank Viola has written because he put on paper what we were going through and what to do about it. We're in the process now of revamping and updating everything.

I felt like I was wandering in the wilderness for 2 years searching for the promised land; thank God I finally found it!

Hola Elaine, es un gusto conocerte. Pues México está pasando en estos momentos dificil tanto en lo económico como en problemas de seguridad y narcotrafico, pero Dios nos ha sostenido y seguimos avanzando en su obra. Personalmente tengo alrededor de 8 años que salí de la iglesia institucionalizada para caminar de una manera simple, con algunos otros hermanos. Los primeros años fueron dificiles, hubo un momento en que me pregunté si estabamos verdaderamente haciendo lo que Dios quería pues no conocia a muchos que estuvieran caminando como nosotros, pero entonces Dios me permitió conocer (solo por email) a Frank Viola, a Gene Edwards y recientemente a Jon Zens, quienes a través de sus escritos y sus vidas comprendí que hay muchos hermanos en todo el mundo que han sido tambien despertados, aun mucho antes que nosotros, y que podemos sostenernos y animarnos unos a otros para seguir trabajando en lo que Dios nos ha hablado.

Personalmente me gusta mucho escribir, predicar y cantar, tengo un sitio web donde comparto reflexiones de la vida cristiana y materiales relacionados con la "iglesia organica". Ultimamente algunos pastores se han acercado para platicar de todos estos asuntos y pues aqui estamos, emocionados por las cosas que el Señor tiene preparadas para los que le aman.
