Mission and the goodness of Jesus
I watched the video by Floyd McClung. He said that their simple churches are characterized by boldness, sacrifice, suffering and simplicity. I can’t help but think that this will be true of simple church no matter where you start them. In North America there are major hindrances to sharing Jesus. The healthiest kind of house church will be those who serve and sacrifice for one another and reach out to make disciples.

Les said… - Basically, encouragement is good. Learning from others. Ideas for spiritual discussions and movie nights. I meet the owner of the gay bar tomorrow and one of the non-Christian friends is coming with me and we are going to dream about "church".
I am following God as He opens doors and brings people. What's your story?

- Good to hear back from you. Don't worry about the length of time. I am of the same mind that I am not concerned about people who are bored with institutional church and just want to "meet" but in a smaller, more intimate environment. I strongly believe that we are called to service.
I begin church in the pub on Tue Nov 11th at 8pm. I had a call from one of my non-Christian friends on the weekend asking me if I had pamphlets done and if so he wanted to help deliver them. There is a real strong interest from non-Christians.
It will be spiritual discussion and movies to provoke conversation and I will let God direct where it goes from there. Thanks for your interest.
