Spent the weekend getting more understanding of who I am to the Father

I spent the weekend in Knoxville at a conference with Graham Cooke and Ryan Wyatt. I knew that I was going to receive a great deal there from Ryan. Even though I had no idea who he was. I have been thriving in organic Church life with authentic heros but it was time for Daddy to give me more. I could not have even called Him Daddy a few yrs ago. I could not even call His name because of my unworthiness. At least that was my mindset. In case you haven't recognized condemnation yet....I just…See More

The Call of the Hour

There is a rebuilding of the Body of Christ going on even in this horrible time we are about to enter into. The Father is purposing something awesome in the midst of all this junk we are witnessing. I believe that just as in Ezra and Nehemiah's day the wall of the temple which represents the Lord Jesus Christ's Body is being rebuilt. This is a difficult process. The Stones of this wall represent us and they are hand hue. Not a fun thing if you are the stone and you and I are stones in this…See More

Diligence

2 Peter 3:14 (NASB)14 Therefore, beloved, since you look for these things, be diligent to be found by Him in peace, spotless and blameless,Diligent.... Work hard at, be busy. We are to be found by Him in Peace, this is the same kind of peace as shalom. Spotless and blameless. We are to be diligent to be found by Jesus resting in His peace and be working to be spotless and blameless. This is a tall order. This was written to the Church that was under attack. Something we in America do not…See More

Prepare your minds for action.....

1 Peter 1:13 (NASB)

13 Therefore, prepare your minds for action, keep sober in spirit, fix your hope completely on the grace to be brought to you at the revelation of Jesus Christ.

The picture here of grid your loins, is for action. This verb referred to the action of pulling up their tunic and tying it up. They did this to go to work. Peter would have done this to work as a fisherman.

This thing keep sober in spirit is not about not laughing or being joyful but being… Continue

Who can endure?

Joel 2:11 (NASB)

11 The Lord utters His voice before His army; Surely His camp is very great, For strong is he who carries out His word. The day of the Lord is indeed great and very awesome, And who can endure it?

I feel like this is a Word of the Lord to myself but also to our country at the very least. In fact, I was laying here this morning and I asked the Holy Spirit what He wanted to show me today. I heard Joel 2:11 as I do at times. I really was not sure if that was Him or… Continue

Rules of Engagement

The other week as I saw the government starting to enact this "bail out bill" I was so agitated and upset about this junk. I started to really loose my footing and became entangled in it all. It was the next morning as I was having to live with the consequences of the previous day's junk that I was asking God to give me something new. I was really seeking God to change me and Boom....

This passage I have struggled with for years. I had come to just skim over it quickly because I just could not understand it. I had sought all kinds of commentaries ect but none gave me what I thought I was missing with this text. I knew there was more to it but I could not get it out no matter what I tried. That is until the One who teaches showed me....

The Holy Spirit is just so Cool, So Smart.... I was sitting there and I felt like He told me to read 2Ti2. So I went there, but this time as I read it, He revealed to me the meaning. He continued to open the text to me for the next few days. It was wonderful and liberating. Jesus really did come to give us liberty.

He sort of Bolded entangles

2 Timothy 2:1-4 (NASB)
1 You therefore, my son, be strong in the grace that is in Christ Jesus.
2 The things which you have heard from me in the presence of many witnesses, entrust these to faithful men who will be able to teach others also.
3 Suffer hardship with me, as a good soldier of Christ Jesus.
4 No soldier in active service entangles himself in the affairs of everyday life, so that he may please the one who enlisted him as a soldier.

***Note I added the Bold to highlight this word.

This text is very important. It gives us direction on how to endure difficult times. We are entering perilous times and we are going to have to be very careful to not become entangled in them. This word is referring to having your feet literally entangled in the weeds as you walk through them. This is really an important verse for the Church which is the Body of Christ. That is you and me not that building. We must look to Jesus. The Body of Christ must look to our Head. We will continue to trip and fall if we do not keep our focus on our Leader, Jesus Christ the King of Kings!

2 Timothy 2:5 (NASB)
5 Also if anyone competes as an athlete, he does not win the prize unless he competes according to the rules.

Then Paul gives us further instructions on how to do this. Look at the next two verses. Verse 5 you can not compete as an athlete and win the prize if you do not follow the rules. God has rules, of holiness, purity, spiritual rules. We have to be very careful. You need to be very careful of the things that come out of your mouth, and the things you pray, are they your will or God's will. If it is not Spirit lead prayer guess what you are outside the rules. We need to be careful the things we speak too. Sometimes we are speaking death into a situation. That is our flesh. We are Life and we should be speaking life as He guilds us.

It is not possible to walk with God in the flesh. He is Spirit. So you and I must fast, worship, seek His Face and Holiness with all of our hearts so we can be in the spirit too.

2 Timothy 2:6 (NASB)
6 The hard-working farmer ought to be the first to receive his share of the crops.

Then Paul says, the hard working farmer should be the first to receive a share of the crops. We better be very careful what we are sowing. We need to sow (Gal5:22) mercy, love, grace, faithfulness, holiness and joy. So that we can reap these wonderful things too. I am afraid the things that have been sown in the church are judgment, strife, malice, murder ect.... We do not want to reap that stuff but we will until we turn to Christ and repent and cover it with His Blood.

We must keep our eyes on the Captain of the Lord's Host, our King, Savior and our God! If we do then we will not become entangled. Wow. So much of what goes on in our lives and in the body of Christ is a mess because we are not keeping our focus on Jesus the Christ. We are focused on our circumstances, our pastor/leaders, our worship team our brothers sins ect. But, ALL marching orders must come from our Leaders heart. We are flesh and we are undone. We defile all we touch if we do it in the flesh. We then become entangled and trip. God Help us!

It is my prayer that this will help someone else in this walk.

Greg and Jennifer,
I confess I had to look to see where Cameron, SC is! I thought it was near Orangeburg. We are not that far away from each other. I would love to here about your journey and what God has laid upon your heart.

Hey Greg, I understand. One of the reasons why I want to get together is so that we can begin to build trust among one another. However, with that being said, there is no telling what it will be like. If we want to keep it truly organic and Spirit led, we must resist the temptation to try to put it in a neat little box. I realize that it would only take one person with an agenda to ruin this. We need to be in prayer that God brings only those who truly want to let Him lead our time and my prayer is that God would use this to build unity in our diversity.
