This is one of the most exciting topics I believe you've brought up yet. I am desperate for someone to lead us and teach us how simple church planting movements work so that we can be a blessing to all nations (Abrahamic covenant) There is an…

We started simple church about 9 years ago. We've had some really great times, especially as a family and for the foster kids we've taken care of in our home. The challenges are to let go of the old model of church and being used to…

Hi...I really wish I knew how to send a private message. We are doing fine, now living in Powell River (the last 3 plus years) We continue to meet in homes, and lately have been praying a LOT for the nation. We need to see God move. I have been inspired here to allow God to do more in my life and also to let Him move as He sees fit when we come together. Means we have to be seeking Him constantly, not just here and there

I think you have to throw the whole old model out the window, hook line and sinker. It can be very tough to do anything when people have expectations of what it should look like. *Oh we MUST have worship w/ music or we MUST have a sermon or a word or a teaching* people will say. When you get together with a friend, do you have any expectations like that? You just trust that your time together will be good and enjoyable and even fruitful esp. if you are believers in fellowship, looking for God. We don't dissect our every move with friends, nor should we be doing that with God. That to me is the first thing. Eat together, and hang out, share what is going on in your lives, pray for needs...just stay at the table, don't get stiff about it. That is a start...just having some fellowship w/ each other and God. THAT type of format will help to break you out of the let's *do church* thing. I know there is more than this, of course. But you need to just start to gather with no agenda until you get rid of the old way. Each person MUST take responsibility for what happens when you come together which can be a new experience. Don't let people lean on one person. If someone facilitates, their job is to draw others out, not to have all the answers. People need to be encouraged to operate in their giftings , to hear God and respond to His voice in their own lives. For many people, thanks to the model they have grown up in, they have no idea how to do any of that, so it will take baby steps forward. Every move in the right direction needs to be encouraged. DON'T start out with watching Alpha or a sermon series, as you will be affirming the old *sit on your hands* mindset. PRAY that God will teach you and lead you thru this. He will. Even if you can find one other couple at first , that REALLY wants to let God be God in your midst, you can start with that and move slowly (or quickly) forward. I will pray for you. Please keep in touch......

Hi Olivia,

Great to hear from you Olivia. We do pass through Merritt sometimes. Thank you for the invitation to have a cup of coffee with you. I remember that.

We are learning and relearning and renewing our minds and hearts in living a simple life sharing our walk with Jesus however we can. He is amazing, loves us so much and has a plan for us.

There is a network of believers in the Fraser Valley. We had a large gathering 2 Sundays ago. Many of us are still quite isolated and need encouragement so getting the regular feeds from Tony and Felicity and some others really helps to keep focused.
