I don't know if your husband has the kind of engeering degree they look for but it would not hurt to try it. MOX is about the only area that is growning on site.

It is only 15 miles either way. But the truth is that Jackson in stuck in the corner of the county with the Savannah River on one side and the Savannah River Site on another. It can only grow toward North Augusta or Aiken. With that being the case, most business will locate closer to North Augusta or Aiken then in Jackson. It is just a fact. We are, for the most part, at the end of the road.

Kimberly-Clark is a great place to work. It is only about 7 or so miles away. So if one is working there one could choose to live in North Augusta, which is only about 7 mile away, or Aiken, which is maybe 15 miles away, that has family and all the extras or Jackson? If you chose Jackson then you would still have to drive to one or the other to shop and visit family.

Originally both my wife and I have family in and around the Beech Island/Jackson area. My wife was from N. Augusta before we married in 1983 and I was in Aiken. We were living in Aiken until I became a pastor of a local church in Jackson. We then moved here. That was back in 1996. Since then I have served in 4 different churches in Jackson either as paid staff pastor or asst. pastor or non paid as teaching Sunday school and leading a small Messianic Fellowship. But that is another story and one reason I am now on this site. lol
