Thanks Marshall! I actually did some research and found that I know one of the people involved w/the churches. Their focus is on house church. They are meeting on Sundays corporately at the moment, but plan to cut down to 1-2…
Jaimee, City Harvest is led by Mike & Debbie Williams of Enoree, SC. Their effort appears to be a Sunday morning institutional-structured church (meets at the Roebuck Skate Center in Moore, SC) experimenting with Wednesday night small groups…
I am just logging into my account for the first time in MONTHS but saw I have a message from you guys! I don't think I ever responded. We are in Spartanburg, have been for about 5 years from Ohio originally. We are part of Hub…

I saw a sign here in Spartanburg for something called "City Harvest Ministries" and something about house church. Anyone familiar w/them?
Ken, I realize it has been quite some time. I am curious if you are still at this position in Gaffney and if your company is currently accepting resumes? My husband, Allen Holmes is starting to look for work in the engineering field again, hoping to…
Hi Jaimee,
My husband, me and two of our children are coming up to your area to see Steven Curtis Chapman and Michael W. Smith. Will you be going to that? We are in Summerville, SC and can't seem to find anyone interested in home church. Are you part of an active home church now?
Hope to hear from you soon!

Hi Jaimee,
Sorry for the late reply! We are going to see SCC & MWS at the Spartanburg Memorial Auditorium. Are you guys near there? Maybe we can meet up when we go up there! The date is Sat. Oct. 18th. Summerville is about 25 miles northwest of Charleston. I thing Spartanburg is about three hours away. We'll probably stay the night since the concert starts at 7pm. We went to Myrtle Beach about a week ago to see Casting Crowns and we drove back 2 1/2 hours and didn't get home until about 2 am! It was tiring! So I think we'll spend the night and just take our time!

Ha! We don't go to too many concerts - there just happen to be people playing that we'd like to see! We really enjoy worshiping at Christian concerts since we don't go to a traditional church or meet with anyone regularly. So we just use it as a great time worshiping God with our children. Yes, I'm sure we will be gone by Sunday evening. Maybe we can meet up another time!

Jaimee,
Thanks for joining the SC Network. Wow four 7 and under. Our boys just turned 4 and 2 respectively. I would enjoy hearing ya'lls story and what God has laid on your hearts.

Jaimee,
I am intersted in starting a Green for God group here in simplechurch and I am checking how many people I can find who are interested. We could cover the whole vegan / organic / low-impact lifestyle from a Christian perspective.

Glad you are on board. No peep from anyone else. Please pray with me over this. Maybe the two of us have enough enthusiam to get it started and spread the word. What do you think?
I see that you mentioned Beech Island in one of your postings? It is just a few miles up the road. I am in Jackson SC. Maybe his work will bring ya'll down here someday.
Yes, I agree that property is better toward North Augusta and Aiken. Jackson is at the end of the road with the Savannah River on one side, SRS on the other and then either a road toward Aiken or North Augusta the other ways.
I understand. We like and enjoy Jackson. It is just that in order to shop, one almost always has to travel to North Augusta or Aiken. It is only 15 miles either way. But the truth is that Jackson in stuck in the corner of the county with the Savannah River on one side and the Savannah River Site on another. It can only grow toward North Augusta or Aiken. With that being the case, most business will locate closer to North Augusta or Aiken then in Jackson. It is just a fact. We are, for the most part, at the end of the road.
Kimberly-Clark is a great place to work. It is only about 7 or so miles away. So if one is working there one could choose to live in North Augusta, which is only about 7 mile away, or Aiken, which is maybe 15 miles away, that has family and all the extras or Jackson? If you chose Jackson then you would still have to drive to one or the other to shop and visit family.
Originally both my wife and I have family in and around the Beech Island/Jackson area. My wife was from N. Augusta before we married in 1983 and I was in Aiken. We were living in Aiken until I became a pastor of a local church in Jackson. We then moved here. That was back in 1996. Since then I have served in 4 different churches in Jackson either as paid staff pastor or asst. pastor or non paid as teaching Sunday school and leading a small Messianic Fellowship. But that is another story and one reason I am now on this site. lol
You may want to try the MOX facility on the Savannah River Site as well. They had been hiring a lot during construction. I don't know if your husband has the kind of engeering degree they look for but it would not hurt to try it. MOX is about the only area that is growning on site.
