Mat 9:10-13 And it came to pass, as he sat at meat in the house, behold, many publicans and sinners came and sat down with Jesus and his disciples. And when the Pharisees saw it, they said unto his disciples, Why eateth your Teacher with the publicans and sinners? Just tonight, our whole family were told that we are "disqualified" from ministering to our fellow brothers at a Calvary Chapel here in Bowling Green, Kentucky.
Why? The young man who "shepherds" this flock was offended that I would even suggest that Chuck Smith's "Moses Model" approach as unbiblical and indeed, dangerous.
He then informed the whole ministry team that we are no longer allowed to use our giftings but can keep attending his teachings.
Sigh...
This is why I am so burdened by the American Church; it is filled with mediocrity in doctrine and understanding. I have seen a real paradigm shift in how the teachers of today view scripture versus the teachings of men of God from 35 years ago.
There is a profound "moral relativity" in church life. "Hey, you do your thing and I will do mine." What about our accountability toward God, doctrine and His instruction?
Anyways, I and my wife spent nearly three decades trying to be a "round peg in a square h***"... and now, we have finally reached the end of our "Institutional bondage" and are free to simply worship, teach and exhort by the power of the Spirit under the headship of Jesus Christ!
Be praying by the way for my ministry in particular. I am a men's conference speaker and am gifted in exhortation and teaching. Funny thing, I get invited to institutional churches all the time; even though, I am free to fellowship with the brethren apart from a one man's "Moses Model." Hmmm... :)
