Ending abortion in America

Have we reached the tipping-point time to end this abomibal abortion in America?

Last Thursday my wife, Sue, and I drove 4 1/2 hours south to Houston, Texas for a conference. It was the USAR, US Alliance for Reformation. In this conference they addressed two main topics that have been really pressing in on my heart for over a year now. They are the issue of ending abortion and bringing revival in America. Well, hit me with a dead mackrel, I didn't realize how connected these two issues… Continue

Jim,

I know this may be a bit far for you to drive, but a few organic churches in Plano, Arlington and Keller areas are planning an area wide Organic Church picnic for May at a park in Arlington. We are looking at either Sunday May 17th or Sunday May 24th. We would love to have you, Sue and anyone else from your group join with us.

Right - I think that means the person may have left simple church so their comment disappeared.

Hi Jim - you are part of the Body of Christ and you belong to Him. You don't need to "fit-in" with any man-made category. Sounds like your group really interacts with Jesus and allows Him to "open the eyes of your hearts" so you can see what He is saying and doing. The intercession for hurricane victims sounds great. There are many different types of house churches in DFW and we have a wide variety of meeting formats, worship styles and personalities. I'm glad Jesus made us all different and together we can express His wisdom.

I'll keep the DFW group posted on details of the area wide picnic. We are leaning toward May 24th or May 31st at this point.

Yes I share your respect for the Baptists in their commitment to the Word of God and to evangelism. That's great that the people in your group are on the same page and encouraging you to "go for it!" That is one of the great things about organic churches is they can be small enough for people to really agree wholeheartedly on a few things.

Jim: Unfortunately, with four little ones that is a bit too far to drive. Please let me know if you hear of anything in our area. Thanks!

Jim:

Thanks for getting back to me. Let's see...we are just getting started in all of this. I am currently reading Pagan Christianity and am about to start reading Reimagining Christianity. I have been watching videos and reading tons of material online about house churches so I think I have a pretty good grasp now on the basic dynamics. Frank and I plan to attend the house2house conference at the Hyatt in September.

Our kiddos are 8, 7, 4, and 6 months and are homeschooled so are pretty well behaved. We are definitely interested in having the older ones join us for our meetings. I think around 5 years old is a good age and younger if the children are not off the wall.

The primary issue for us is that Frank's schedule is crazy. Wednesday nights are best for us right now. As far as format, I think we're thinking free-flowing, spirit-led, every member functioning meetings with no set agenda and no one "leader." I think asking a new member to teach or share each week is a good plan to start but that time should be participatory and not monologue oriented. Let me give you my email and we can chat more about our journey and yours!
