Longcuts

I like shortcuts.

These days I spend a lot of time walking through the University of Minnesota looking for short cuts to buildings in order to lessen the time and effort I need to spend in getting from one class to another. Since efficiency is high on my value list, I'm always looking for ways to streamline my day and my walking routes to spend less time in transit. I have found some routes that may save me a couple of minutes, or shave… Continue

Nameless and Faceless Servants

http://thoughtsfromabackseatdriver.blogspot.com/

Years ago a man prophesied that the Lord would raise up a new breed of people. A nameless and faceless Kingdom people. Men and women of impact that would accomplish through the Spirit of God, incredible Kingdom advances. A people who would not build ministries and reputations, but be wholly committed to humility. A breed of people where the only reputation known, was the reputation of Christ.

Years ago I studied… Continue

Bound Fast
I've been writing about Kingdom relationships these last few posts because I am passionate about the Body of Christ getting "rightly related", as the Scriptures say, to one another. I'm back to using the movie Lord Of The Rings as an illustration in today's blog post. For visual learners like myself, it is a great movie to use to give us a visual picture to work from.

From start to finish, battle scenes make up a large portion of the

Wow, that is really cool the diversity in MN. It wasn't anything I tried to do.. my brother converted to Islam, and married a Somali from Eden Prairie. After 6 months he had an experience and turned his life back to Christ.. it wasn't all he thought it would be... the holy spirit drew him, then she had an experience with God.. and called wanting to know how to give her life to Jesus... we walked with her over the phone for 2 years... craziness... she had dreams of jesus etc..she read the bible like crazy and had so many questions... long story and much more... she has not been discipled and I'm not sure if the seed is going to bear fruit, but we did see life change during a season... but she really needed discipling... We have lost touch since they got divorced...

Sure. It's a long story but briefly I am involved with a church plant that is at about 20 people now and trying to discern what church model to follow from here. We have a leadership meeting tonight.

Hi Katie
well, I have been fellowshipping with people here and there but as far as a solid organic body we don't have one as of yet but in the morning will run an add looking to flush out some un-churched believers looking for the real thing, here is the ad.The Organic Church

Something new that has been around a long time

We got tired of attending “church” and
decided to be the CHURCH.
We are Christians.
Our commitment to the Lord is vibrant.

We got tired of attending
“church” services as passive spectators.
Today we are Christians

Hi Katie,

I had horses for about 18 years and have been a painting contractor for 30, taking a break from horses for awhile but as for now have I no place to put one or maybe thats just a closed chapter in my life, The Lord knows, BUT I am looking forward to riding when we get to heaven, so for now I will be content with my Iron Horse, she don't eat much and she doesn't poop in the garage :-) thanks for writing Sis

Hi Katie! I wanted to give you an update. We had a very moving experience touring the City Team homes for women--one for crisis pregnancy and the other for recovering women (ex-prostitutes, ex-convicts, ex-drug abusers, etc.). Brenda and I are going to do something for both of them in December. I'm particularly excited about the home for recovering women, because many of their women become disciple-making followers of Jesus at the end of their year term. And we have been invited to attend one of their Bible studies. I don't know what the Lord is going to do with this, but we're going to move forward and see.

The other exciting thing is that I have been talking a lot to my not-yet-believing sister-in-law who is the chair for civic engagement at one of our most influential community colleges here. She said that we could look at her database of non-profits that work with women to give me an idea of what's out there already. Most of all, I'm just excited to share our hearts together to serve women in hopes that the Lord will do something with and between us for his Kingdom. Cool stuff.

So we are going to leave for Basel, Switz. in a couple hours to meet up with Neil, Dezi, the Dales, the Gambles, Jim Rutz-all at Wolfgang Simson's home. Mike and I are really excited to see what God does during our time together. And I am sensing a change in the winds for Mike and me and what he has for us here in the Bay Area. Our time in Europe will be a holy experiment of sorts--traveling around Europe (after our meeting at the Simsons) for five days with no agenda but listening to the Lord and following. It should be fun!

I hope that you are well and staying warm as the weather changes. We still have 80 degrees here, and I'm missing my autumn weather. :)

Thanks for your support, Katie. I hope to have much more to tell when we talk next.

Love, Leslie

Katie,

My husband and I are just in the process of moving to St. Paul from Salt Lake City. We were in an organic church there that started in February. We'll looking for that here but haven't totally moved yet. I'm here working and looking for a home while my husband, Kent, is working through the stuff for the move in Salt Lake City.

Right now I'm just trying to connect. --Nancy Larson

Katie,

Thank you for your comments! It is refreshing to hear.
I have been very very busy lately.I have 5 new believers that I am discipling going through alot right now, taking a tour guide school, am manager of a humanitarian aid outreach in my city of Beer Sheva, and of course we just finished the holidays (Tabernacles, Trumpets, and Atonement).

What is going on in Penssylvania.... I would love to hear these things.

I find that often living simple church is alot harder than dreaming simple church, but also alot more refreshing.

Blessings!

Sean
