ex-mega church worship leader here...
A guitar in one gathering could be wonderful! A guitar in another gathering could be a chaotic, lifeless mess. Is it bringing about the Life of the Spirit? Is it even led by the Spirit? Is the guitar…
I don't know if this is a finished discussion or not but I thought I'd chime in anyway. We love music as well, I play guitar and my wife sings having been a music leader and choir director when we were in traditional church ministry. It…
I want to teach people how to play a ukulele as part of organic cottage worship. It is a pretty simple instrument and can be used like a guitar. Simple church . . . simple ukulele
Hi Michael. We are located in Hudson Oaks and have been involved in House Church ministry meeting with as few as 4 and as many as 20 for going on 3 years. We haven't been meeting in our own home recently, in fact we haven't met here for…
Hi Ken. The Lady you asked about (if it's the baby dedication picture) is Carol Cartwright. She is a leader with her son, Joseph at Awakening which is part of the COAH network of churches.
Great lady with a lot of wisdom and powerful annointing.
Actually Ken we meet in Red Oak which is a little South of Dallas, but you are definitely welcome. Every few months though we do a COAH network wide gathering usually in Arlington. That might be closer. Carol usually attends those as well. If you want to make it down to Awakening, we meet each Saturday at 7pm
For the address you can go here.
Ken, COAH is short for City on a Hill Connection. I sent you an invite to the group on Simplechurch.org. It has some news -some of the things we're involved in.
COAH was started by Adam Clay as a way for Southwest seminary students to get involved and learn to do simple church. However, it has moved beyond that. While the first churches were rooted in the SBC family, COAH also now has a definite charismatic wing as well. The leadership team is diverse with a desire to see the Kingdom advance and people discipled.
The COAH leadership has come along side others on the journey whether they choose to be part of COAH or not. The whole idea is to come alongside so the Kingdom of God will advance.

Hey honey - I've officailly joined! I'm excited to see all the great things being shared already.
Hey Ken! Read your intro on the DFW group page. Are you going to be able to come to the gathering on Sept. 21st at David Underwood's house in Keller? I plan to be there and would love to meet you and compare notes on simple church stuff.
Yes I'm sure there will be more area-wide type gatherings in the future. Earlier this year we had a picnic at River Legacy Park that was fantastic. It was a great opportunity to meet folks from the area who are doing "simple church."
Dear Ken: Great to be in Dallas and meet you. Let's keep in touch.

Ken, sorry for the huge delay in responding to your question. I am actively involved in Haiti as I am working to start a first-of-its-kind media training institute there. The purpose of this school is to train Haitians to use the tools of mass communication for mass education. In addition, I have launched a powerful new networking initiative with the sole purpose of uniting (and eventually offering funding to) missionaries serving in Haiti. Really, it's too much to explore here. If you wanna hear more, check out http://www.ageofthestoryteller.com/ or drop me another line and we can exchange phone numbers. My family and I should be living in Haiti within the next 8 months (God willing). We are actively seeking people who wanna get behind what we are doing.
What is your interest in Haiti? Are you looking for ways to get involved?
