Laura S replied to Laura S's discussion 'Introductions- Introduce yourself!' in the group Britain/UK: Being Simple Church in the UK
Hi Gemma, tried to write on your page but unable to.  Its true that I rarely come on here.  We are still in Guildford.  Still living simply.  We currently have no 'group' going, but are standing with believers who are…

Disciple-makers are invisible, possibly 'failures' by the standards of Christendom

Being a disciple-maker, you are invisible. You are not on a platform, but you are doing the essential, daily nurturing, edifying labour which is sourced from the Lord’s passionate love for the young ones He has brought alongside for the season. You are continually giving of your time, in my husband's case---hardly ever programmed---continually, by phone, visit, email, and rarely in a formal ‘spiritual’ gathering. Sometimes we do 'meetings' (these days we like to have a no-leadership-structure… Continue

It is great to hear from you. I am not sure myself how you make a conversation like this more private. Why don't you post that as a question on the discussion forums in the section devoted to questions on the site? it could help all of us. I will pass on your greetings to Mum, who is doing great. We see her at least once a week.

Laura, you are right, we are living by faith. I guess I have always wanted to, because while I fight it I also desire it. I have heard so many stories of people being given the priveledge to live that way, totally seeing Father as their source. While we say we believe He is, until we are put in a position where it becomes the truth of our lives we have only an intellectual understanding. I get excited about this even as I think about it. I find the wind of the Spirit blowing gently as I write and it feels wonderful. Thank you Laura for commenting on my comment.
Blessings, Suzette

Hey Laura, Hope your day has been good. I thought I'd email you to see how things are going, and then I spied Peggy's comment re: Cheshire simple church. I'm less than 5 mins away from the border, by car, with Cheshire and would be interested, if not too far away. Or do you think that is running before I've learnt to walk, so to speak? First things first.
Blessings,
Steve

You've got a lot on your plate, I'm on my days off at the mo showering myself in the faith of the Lord. Back in tomorrow though.

If you have a word with Peggy and we'll look at sorting something out, I'm on a 10am till 8pm tomorrow. If you still sort me out some stuff / internet and all I'd be grateful.

Blessings to you both,

Steve

Hi Laura, Hope you and Kumar are keeping well. Not spoke to you for a while so thought I'd give you a call. So much has happened, and not enough room to put it all down. Hope you've had a great day.

Blessings to you both,

Steve

I will do Laura, just finished work so had 50 emails to deal with. I'm on 10-21 for the next three days so will be a bit late replying. Off from Tuesday, we can have a natter and I'll scan some of the book.

Blessings,

Steve

Laura, I want to say I liked your honesty, not everyone can be that truthful and most do not know how to respond. We have been were you are and God has seen us through. Always remember He has a plan for us and right now ours has been wait and we are still waiting. It is a time of refreshing and trusting and more faith. (not always easy, but there is no other way) They are many losing there jobs, You will know how to pray for them and lead them to the one that can help, our Lord.
Stay real!
