Being "Called out".... An amazing adventure with God!!
My husband Tom and I have been living this amazing adventure for a couple of years now and initially we didn't write anything down but during our anniversary weekend in July of 07 I felt very strongly that we needed to tell the story, what we could remember of it anyway, and record it. Then, we transcribed it and then I continued to journal everything after that. I really didn't know why we felt so strongly about writing it all down but felt, if nothing else, we could look back at it ourselves and be encouraged.
So far, I have sent this journal to so many of our friends who ask periodically "So, what's the latest episode!!??" God continues to do so much in and through us that I am so thankful that we were prompted by the Holy Spirit to journal it as it has encouraged so many others in the body of Christ and has challenged their faith and increased their trust in God in their own lives.
The thought to post all this on a blog came to me several months ago but I wasn't sure where, when or how until now. I was recently invited to join this Simple Church website and thought that this site would contain beleivers and members of the body that could read and be encouraged and hopefully be less likely to feel the need to "commit" us!!
My prayer is that as people read this amazing (and still ongoing) story, that the Holy Spirit will speak in a powerful way of His Truth, Love and Faithfulness to those who beleive and obey.
I also ask that as you read this, that you will lift us up in prayer for protection, strength and courage to continue to walk this walk and pray that we hear and follow the Lord (and not our own ways or the enemy) and that we will keep the armor of the Lord on and "stand firm" against the prince of darkness and his army (Ephesians 6).
Just to give you a little back ground, Tom and I have been married since 1980 and the first 21 years of our marriage was extremely difficult for us both with my emotional issues and his pornography addiction it is truly miraculous that we survived and are still married. But, God is faithful and has healed most of my issues (I am still a work in progress :)) and has led Tom into healing and freedom from his addiction (also still a work in progress...) and has restored our marriage, Hallelujah! Now, Tom and I work for the Lord full time and the Lord is using us to help others in their marriages and healing for addictive behaviors. Tom works with the men and I work with the women and we work with couples together. So, in the following journal (blog) entries, when I speak of our ministry, that is what we are referring to....
