Greetings, Marvin. Welcome to this site. May you find encouragement here. I've noticed an increasing presence of folks from Alberta on simple / organic church websites lately. What has drawn you here? Where is Meeting Creek in relation to a place likely better known by others?

I'm somewhat acquainted with the "Bible Belt" flavour of south-central Alberta through my exposure to the Mennonite Brethren contingent in the province. When I first saw your given and family names appear here, I wondered whether you might have had some experience with that tradition yourself. If so, there might be some suggestion in your profile graphic that you have also discovered some stuff outside that tradition as well!

Over the past couple of weeks, I've had some discourse with a few fellows in Red Deer, through organicchurchtoday.com, a site similar to this one. They have been helpful in sharing their understanding and practice of apostolic ministry, some of them shaped by significant involvement in YWAM. In fact, at least a couple of them departed for India and the U.K. this past weekend to partner with some YWAM stuff in those places, for several months. Their experience and insight concerning apostolic ministry caught my attention because I'm attempting to get a handle on how the gifts of apostle, prophet, evangelist can be recovered as equipping gifts for the church (Ephesians 4:11) -- most of our own  Body experience having been in exclusively pastor-teacher-centric settings. While a significant % of folks who have moved toward a New Testament "organic" expression of life in Christ have been learning to live by the each-one and one-another principles, there is some wariness and wandering as they process how leadership can function along with those each-one-and-one-another practices.

Is there anything that you are processing at the moment?
