I started a relationship with Christ at age 17, but didn’t start “truly living” until 39. I am now enjoying the full and rich life with Father that I always wanted yet always felt was out of reach.
I have been deeply and positively impacted by the book Wild at Heart by John Eldredge and his ministry called Ransomed Heart. I attended their men's bootcamp in Colorado in 2006 and it changed/saved my life. I am now helping other men find their heart and true freedom in Christ in Ohio through Hearts Alive, a volunteer ministry dedicated to setting men free, one heart at a time. Check it out at
www.HeartsAlive.org.
Books/authors who have helped me find a deeper and more intimate relationship with Father: John Eldredge (Wild at Heart, Waking the Dead and his other writings),
Frank Viola (Pagan Christianity and most of his writings), Paul Young (The Shack), Dallas Willard (Divine Conspiracy),
Wayne Jacobsen (
Transition), C.S. Lewis and many others.
I am married to a wonderful woman named Melanie who has hung in there through better and worse for 19 years plus. The Lord has blessed us with five beautiful children whom we homeschool - three boys and two girls - Madison (15), Luke (13), Morgan (10), Logan (7) and Lincoln (5). We currently live about 1 hour north of Columbus in Mount Vernon, OH.
Some things that make my heart come alive include
songwriting (check out my songs on the left), hunting, reading, Colorado mountains, watching movies (based on true stories are the best), smoking good cigars, home brewing beer, making home made ice cream, and dreaming up crazy entrepreneurial ideas.
In 2002 we left the IC and have been 'chasing the wild goose' - meaning, following Father and the leading of the Holy Spirit - ever since.

SOME FAVORITE QUOTES:
Theological paradigms can be more binding and addictive than Heroine because we sancitfy them. The reality is that not one of us believes exactly today what we did 10 years ago and 10 years ago we thought we were absolutely right. (Paul Young, author of The Shack)
Earth’s crammed with heaven, and every common bush afire with God, but only he who sees takes off his shoes; the rest sit round it and pluck blackberries. (Elizabeth Barrett Browning)
God has created us and our gifts for a place of his choosing, and we will only be ourselves when we are finally there. (Oz Guiness)
He who works with his hands is a labourer, he who works with his hand and mind is a craftsman, but he who works with his hands, mind, and heart together is an artist. (St. Francis of Assisi)
If you do not cut the mooring, God will have to break them by a storm and send you out. Launch all on God, go out on the great swelling tide of His purpose, and you will get your eyes open. (Oswald Chambers)
