Looking to "Build a Better Mousetrap," or Church

About me:

I am interested in strategic church building systems. What is that? In the Christian world, it is a fairly radical idea. It involves looking at the general practices of the Christian church and seeing if they are effective or not. The main goal is to build "the best moustrap" so to speak. My goal is to incorporate the best teachings with the best practices in order to represent the Lord Jesus in the best possible manner to the world. Many people believe Jesus is like the greedy tele-evangelist who wants to trick them out of their money. He is very loving, compassionate, truthful, honest and fun to be around. I hope that I can represent Him well like that to others.

I currently work as an electrician in the Dallas area. I have been in this field for over 20 years now. Time goes by fast. I earned my master electricians license in March 2007. That was a big achievement for me. It is not easy to get. It doesn't mean that you are a great electrician or anything. Mostly, it means that you are smart enough to pass a 5 hour electrical code test. Passing the test has allowed me to provide better for my family.

I am married to a wonderful woman, Heeyah. She is a great blessing to me and my number one fan. We have been married for almost 7 years and we are expecting our first child in January. We are thankful and excited.

The most important thing about me (in my opinion) is that I became a born-again Christian 22 years ago. Knowing Jesus has been the best adventure in life. Some people may think that it is very boring and dull. But it is not! Jesus is always trying to reveal His and the Father's love to me all of the time. I am not always willing or ready to receive it at times. Then I have to go through some significant emotional events that I have to try and figure out what the Lord is trying to reveal to me. Sometimes I figure it out and sometimes it takes another lesson or two to figure it out.

Who I'd like to meet :
I would like to meet Joseph Prince. He is really cool and radical about God's love. For a Bible teacher, he is really fun and insightful.

Rodney Howard Brown seems pretty cool too. Very intense! But also very anti-religious. A good combination.

Compassion in Ministry

Over the last couple of months I have been learning about the Father's heart for me and how much He likes fellowshipping with me. It has been fun and eye opening too. I read a devotion from Smith Wigglesworth that was really good and it spoke about the importance of having compassion for others as you are ministering to them. I will share a brief excerpt of that.

"I am never happier in the Lord than when I am in a bedroom with a sick person. I have had more revelations of the Lord's… Continue

Matt, thank you very much! After all those negative comments, yours is a refreshing one and a morale-booster. Yes, I would love to read your article on 1 John 1:9. That's a very important scripture that has to do with the salvation of our souls. Please send it to my email address.

My pleasure, Matt! I enjoy how you think, daring to color outside the lines.

And, congratulations on the soon-birth of your first child!!! I have 8, from 21 down to 2, and each one was like the first child on the planet -- enjoy ever single blessed and miraculous (& sleepless!) moment!!!

Shalom, Dena
