Ok. Calling all scholars!Have you heard of people praying for the anointing that was on a departed soul? I have been around this stuff regularly. "I declare the anointing of Kathryn Kulman," or…Continue

But he did. Let's face it, there a lot of things even Christians wish Paul and Jesus hadn't said but why? Is it because of the way we've been influenced by our culture? Yes there is context and…Continue

I'm not kidding. Wondering who out there has had to deal with people who are "demonized" or harassed by tormenting spirits. I personally see this ministry all throughout the new testament and without…Continue

We have a situation with a single mom who's just been coming to our fellowship. Her son is 7 and has autism. This means he makes loud noises and literally climbs the walls or anything that will allow…Continue

Marshall Diakon replied to Mindy Wood's discussion Oh look! It's a...a demon. Great. My husband Jarrod and I are from a non-denominational background. Been through the poverty gospel, the prosperity gospel, and what I now call the new charismatic church movement the "revival" gospel.
Something didn't seem right a long time ago but I didn't know what other alternatives there were for practicing Christians to gather until I stumbled on home church. The information Jarrod and I found through Barna and Viola's books, a few websites whetted our appetite for an early church experience.
We are a family of five, blended with three kids. Like a mini brady bunch. I'm a writer, editor of a local magazine and my husband is a musician and recording genius by night, a factory worker by day.
We started Pentecost Sunday in June of 2011. I welcome suggestions, invitations, and prayer of course.
Thanks for stopping by.

Got a question. A friend of mine and I are discussing Jeremiah 23:34-36 where God is rebuking those who prophecy out of their own imaginations. VERY dangerous business to declare God has said something when He hasn't and it leads that person astray (into sin as is the case in Jeremiah).
Don't get me started on the modern prophetic quack movement.
What I told her is that according 1 Cor. 14:9 we're supposed to carefully evaluate when someone brings a prophetic…

The new cross does not slay the sinner, it redirects him. It gears him into a cleaner and jollier way of living and saves his self-respect. To the self-assertive it says, “Come and assert yourself for Christ.” To the egotist it says, “Come and do your boasting in the Lord.” To the thrill seeker it says, “Come and enjoy the thrill of Christian fellowship.” The Christian’s message is slanted in the direction of the current vogue in order to make it acceptable to the…

It's long but worth the read. Found at http://truthinscripture.com/2010/12/28/stanley-frodsham-1965-prophecy/

Great darkness is coming upon the countries that have heard My gospel but no longer walk in it. My wrath shall be manifested against all ungodliness. It shall come with great intensity. My judgments are literal, and not a thing to be…

Hi, Mindy. Interested in fleshing out the cryptic statement about "step one, find resources failed"? A bit of context might provide focus for folks who would like to be supportive. We've all had our seasons of needing input! Blessings.
Hi, again, Mindy. Have you investigated the stuff that's presented through the "Getting Started" tab at the top of the page? I'd commend it to you, if you haven't seen it yet. What I appreciate there is not only the highlighting of several Biblical themes that seem to guide how God's people are to relate to one another, but also to Him. There is a lot of encouragement there to listen -- yes, to what's on the pages of scripture, but also to Him and to what He's communicating through others in our lives. Most of our relational/ community life emerges out of how we're connected to God. How we let Him nurture our hearts will have greater signicance for our gathered lives, than will our acquaintance with a style of meeting -- although what we do when we're together is important, for sure.
On my page, there's a blog that I wrote some time ago, entitled, "Our gatherings: How deliberate? How just whatever?" that might offer you something to reflect on while you consider flavor of meeting. I've also posted a video called, "Upside-down Leadership" that many have found helpful.
