A New Creature

“I’m born again and possess a renewed life!” Yippee! Yahoo! I love to repeat that whenever I can because it is such great and exciting news! Paul wrote, “I have been crucified with Christ; it is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me . . .!” (Galatians 2:20).Paul told the church in Corinth, “Therefore if any person is ingrafted in Christ he is a new creation—a new creature altogether; the old has passed away. Behold, the fresh and new has come!” (II Corinthians 5:17). What Glorious news!…See More

Our Promised Land

Yehoveh gave our forefather Abraham, the land of Canaan “for an everlasting possession” (Genesis 17:8), yet our politicians are continually trying to divide it up and give it to the enemy of Yehoveh (and Yehoveh’s chosen people). In case you are confused, “everlasting” means never-ending. You might be thinking, “Abraham had to rejoice when YHWH promised his descendants a permanent homeland, 'as far as they could see,' and it would last into eternity.” But the odd thing is that the New Testament…See More

Testing The Limits

I know, after talking about what we call the 10 Commandments, yesterday, I probably shouldn’t be too rough on you . . . but I will anyway. I was reading in I Corinthians recently and once again saw in the 10th chapter, verse 9: “Do not put Christ to the test, as some of them did and then died from snakebites.” (I Corinthians 10:9).What in the world did Paul mean here when he talked about “putting Christ to the test”? Well, let me give you an example. We test him whenever we ask, “Just how…See More

What About Repentance?

We’ve all seen the comical examples of someone carrying around a sign, “Repent! The End is near!” There are all kinds of doom-sayers out there—some have even accused me of being one. That's right. They say I focus too much on repentance and sin and all of the negative things. I remember the old preacher, J. Vernon McGee talking about that. He said that all teachers and preachers are going receive all kinds of praise and salutations--at the same time, they will receive complaints and criticism…See More

Where Are the Timothys?

Paul wrote the Philippian Christians and introduced the truth, “Let the mind of Christ be in you.” Amazingly, when he wrote that, he was imprisoned in Rome.

I know I have mentioned this before, but it still amazes me that Paul was in a jail cell when he enthusiastically declared he had the ”mind,” or attitude of Christ, casting aside his reputation to become a servant of Jesus and his church. Now he wrote, “I trust in the Lord Jesus to send Timothy to you…

The Rule of Grace

I'm pretty sure we have all heard the story about the prodigal son. If not, well let me know and I can direct you to the story. Anyway, I love the story, some hate it, and it has been taught and considered from every possible angle . . . but I still get insights once in awhile. Recently, I was thinking about the condition of that “prodigal.” He was slopping the pigs with their food thinking, “Wow! I’ve really blown it.”

What he needed—and finally discovered— is what…

lol. It seems I've had a beard longer than I've been without one. A few years ago I began a tradition where the first day of autumn I begin to grow it . . . then the first day of spring I shave it off.

NIkolas,

You mentioned that you got a note that I made a comment to one of your posts but you couldn't find the comment.  I think it's because I ended up deleting it.
