Our bottom story was submerged from floor to ceiling for the better part of three days during the Ondoy flooding, and my family and I stayed on the second floor, most of that time with no food (but we did feed our mentally retarded son the few scraps we managed to scrape from downstairs before it was submerged "under water")...
...But all that had nothing to do with your friend's trying to speak with a group of pastors and their not listening (...listening enough...they did give him "less than a minute"). Your connecting the event of your friend's "rejection" with the Ondoy flooding is an example of the "false cause [logical] fallacy" [ http://philosophy.lander.edu/logic/cause.html ]. And furthermore, we know from Scripture and from experience that God does not simply and randomly judge a "true servant of the Lord" (or many...that I personally know who were affected by typhoon Ondoy etc) because another of His "true servant[s]" was rejected or ignored by the clerical powers that be. Let's try to analyze the Ondoy and Peping floods, along with the other negative events that have happened, are happening, and will happen to the Philippines in the light of truth (Psa 119:160; Joh 17:17).

Who is this "true servant of the Lord' that you speak of?
What message was he attempting to bring to the Philippines?
Are you suggesting that the Manila flood is a because the religious pastors group refused to listen to that friend of yours?

I want to say Thank You for taking the time to write to me. Thank you for your encouragement. I wrote that post quite a while ago and I never thought anyone would read that post again. Since that post the Lord has taken me on a journey where my priorities are taken into question with Him. What matters now personally to me is that I want to walk closely with Jesus not because He will give me promises, prophecies and that I hear His voice but like Mary to sit at His feet to enjoy being in His Presence.
My mind keeps going back to Moses that God had a close friendship with Him. How awesome is that? I too want to long for that intimate relationship with Jesus. Interesting too I noticed that for man to have that intimate relationship with His God, He must enter into the wilderness and bareness of His soul to search for the Living Waters of God that flows from His Holy Mountain.
Thank you once again Trish for being a Blessing.

- Yes I agree. I think finding out it was a cult was just the beginning. We are learning so much and some days it feels like our brains are swelling with information. We have friends who are asking about us leaving The Box and yet it is such a touchy subject. In some statements they make it sounds like they are trying to get us back, and at other times they agree with us on so much. It's a large battle for such a small town. Word gets around fast in this community. Some are calling us False teachers and we have been cut off by so many friends too. I'm glad to hear about the Ukraine. I think God is ultimately the one who is calling people out. I feel we are to be here with open arms when the others answer His call. I will email you with some more detailed info.It will amaze you.

- We are having a difficult time with the 'church' we left. But my daughter seems to think God is allowing us a few days between people coming to try to talk us into going back so we have time to recharge before the next person comes. It's taxing though. But perhaps they will see that we are still normal people living for the Lord. We discovered the 'church' we were in is a cult and now we are wondering if all the 'churches' are cults.
