Your journey sounds so much like ours...! We've been married for 22 years, with 8 children (21, 19, 16, 12, 10, 8, 6 and 2) (yep, we're done!). Mark was ordained, and we left in difficult situations ... in pointing out legalism and abuses, we *became* the (expendable) problem. Got shunned and all. Most painful and liberating thing we'd experienced...!

That was almost 5 years ago, and it's been a wild ride since! Unlearning, and relearning, and having everything we thought we stood on questioned, if not outright shaken to dust. So much of what we thought we knew was actually keeping us from experiencing God -- it's a lifetime (if not an eternity) of learning about His lavishness...!

All those "too good to be true" throughts about God? Guess what? They're true. And HE's the One who whispered them into our hearts!

Be patient and gentle with yourself, and with each other at this time. It can be unsettling, and YET, there is freedom on the other side of inquiry.

Hi, It sounds like you have had similar experiences to ours. I find the challenge now is to find "what we are instead". Although house based church is attractive to us it's not easy to connect without buildings and FT staff. Many of the issues that divide in IC are also present in the house church movement. We're still looking... meanwhile we are home Sunday mornings and trying not to feel guilty for loving it.
We'd love to hear from folks near us in Calgary.

It appears you are the only one alive and kicking on the Wisconsin group page!  So I figured I would just send you a note here instead of commenting on that page.

 

How are your Sunday meeting times going?  Last I saw on here you were meeting with men early in the morning sometimes and other weeks with a group.

 

My husband and I live in Tomah and we don't have a local group yet.  But the Lord has provided plenty of brethren 2-3 hours away so we find ourselves on the road.

 

I'd love to hear more about what God is doing over by you :-)
