My Burdened Heart

My brothers,Today, I have a burdened heart that cries out for a loss we have suffered. You will say, "what have we lost?" I believe we have lost the intimacy of written communication via the lost art of letter writing.I am not condemning this social media website as well as others because they are good and there are advantages to getting messages out in a timely manner to as many people as possible. Worship

Each morning there is so much to worship our Father for. So much goes through my mind. The creation itself that our Father spoke into existance, eternal life, the precision of mathematics, Spiritual and material blessings. There is so much more that I could go on and on. The Father's handprint is on everything. I pray that he blesses your days with a spirit of reflection on all these things.See More

A New Understanding

Hello All,

It was interesting this morning as I sat by my picture window and reflected on the creation, etc.. In years past, I have felt that felloshipping through the internet was "not really" meeting with other Brothers and Sisters in Christ. However, it occurred to me this morning that writing to other Christians over the internet was and is like Paul writing to the various churches that he established. He needed to share his heart with other believers and this is one way that…

Greetings brother Peter.....what we all long for is touching each others heart with what Jesus is doing (or not doing) through each of our lives. When I see Him and His work in you, I am either encouraged to do more, or am inspired to encourage you to allow Him to do more in you. Either way, we both grow from our touch of each other......that is true Christian fellowship! Be of good courage, for whatever you are going through is to make you stronger in faith. Read James:1......God bless, Thomas.......

I believe it is next to impossible to find a working "organic church" anywhere. The alternative is to not quit looking, but to redefine how this church should look. I have come to see it is not geographical, but is a kindred network of brothers and sisters everywhere life takes me.

As to a local church, I have started a church in another churches building during their off service hours. Our church is a real organic church because of our interaction with each other and prospective about the clergy lecture stronghold issues. We are able to each minister to the other and lift Jesus Christ up individually and corporately. I disagree with Viola and Sweet about having no leadership structure. I believe a shepherd is critical as leader. believe the shepherd should feed and clothe themselves from the sheep. I believe sheep need leadership, and will not gather without a shepherd. But, I do believe the shepherd should serve the sheep, die for them and protect them from wrong doctrine (predators, which are many and usually in the form of church leaders).

Don't give up! If you can't find a church to worship in (one that dominates its people with constant lecturing and little to no individual interaction) then consider starting a small group from the few who feel as you do. Courage my brother in Christ......Thomas

Dear Brother Peter.....I too had a similar experience to yours. I have always known that only a handful of people in the organized church were genuine and shared their fellowship as believers. I seemed to make friends in the church as social influence economically would push us together.....never the inward Jesus Christ that was supposed to be in us. For decades, I found this disgusting circle of "fellowship" puked me out of ever wanting a "church" relationship. Betrayal was common from "Christian friends". My non-Christian friends knew where I stood and I knew what to expect from them. Sad to say, the non-Christian friends always proved less likely to screw me and my family.

My need is to have a small group of believers to share life's struggles and individual battles won. My faith is made strong when I share with others life's journey. I need Jesus Christ to live through me. He does it in part through other believers joining with me in our quest.

Hi Peter, I have great pleasure in accepting your precious gift of friendship, a gift that comes from our Father, and like a smile, it can be shared. Great pictures, by the way.

Hi Peter nice to hear back from you, the Nikon d3100 is a very nice camera, one of the best entry level DSLR models they have ever produced. I have always gone with Pentax until changed over to digital about twelve or thirteen years ago, but of late have been sold on Fuji. To be honest I got sick of carrying six lenses, a multitude of adaptors and extenders, and all that goes with them, around in a bag that I could gone on holiday with. When we moved to Greece I sold off my cameras in favour of a Fuji Finepix S8100fd bridge camera with a 10mp res and a 18x zoom, so all I needed to carry was the camera. That was nearly three years ago and I am just awaiting the delivery of a new Fuji HS20EXR with a host of new features and a 16mp res together with a 30x (24-720mm) manual Zoom and a manual focus ring. The auto focus on the S8100 has been my biggest problem especially when shooting insects in flight etc when the AF tends to be dragged to the background, very annoying.

I am doing some work out here with photography, mainly for tourist industry and local restaurants, and offering wildlife shots for purchase, but mainly for my own pleasure. Although I became a professional photographer for a few short years, I have been lucky in that I have always had jobs where I could use photography as a part of my function. In a couple of cases I had served as the organisation's official photographer as a side function. Here are a couple of web-sites where you can have a look at some of my work:

http://aegeanblueyorkies.co.uk the website has not been updated for some time.

Please let me know some of your experiences and how you got into photography, I love to hear about people's experiences.

Yours in Christianity

Derek

Hi Peter,

Thanks for connecting with me on Simple Church.

I read through your two blogs on 'Examination of the Institutional Church' - concur with many of your concerns and points. As I've come to see and understand the power of tradition it is no surprise that many want to stay in the institutional organized church. It is hard to fault them as tradition holds much sway - especially if these 'this is the way you do it' mindsets were handed down beginning in childhood. Sadly there is also the power of comfort and familiar. Like a three stranded cord! Hard to break! But God is able and He may use those He calls out and frees from religion (a big process I might add!) to pray for those who are stuck and don't know it, lead by lifestyle, or even have the joy of speaking into their lives!

Blessings,

Nancy

Hi Peter , A couple of years ago my wife and I got hold of John Fenn's book, The Last Day Church. Was on house church and we had revival in our hearts for a couple of years. We have tested the waters having some folks in out home for worship singing 70s scripture songs and other spin off songs and letting body ministry flow. But all are established in structured churches and we are on hold right now. We believe we in in Fathers will and timing will open the right door .Blessings Bill
