Hi Phil,
I have also read the negative stuff about Mike on the internet. I have read tons of stuff and listened to hours and hours of recordings of Mike and I have yet to hear anything even slightly amiss weighing it with the scriptures, If you could find anything he has said personally that is cultish or not in line with the Word I would love to hear what it is. To my knowledge they have been meeting for over 20 years, looks like a big family that loves the Lord and they have figured out how to fellowship in love the way Jesus said we should.

I receive about 1-3 emails a day from different members of their group and it is all encouraging Jesus focused stuff meant to lift up. you mentioned that they have a negative effect on their surrounding community, what exactly are they doing that is negative?
I have spent a lot of time trying to find anything wrong with them because they seem to perfect to believe or to good to be true:), and what I mean is compared to other Christian groups around the world that really fall short example wise.
Anyway just my findings,, you may be able to discover something I cant but I am always wanting to know the truth but I cant believe hearsay from disgruntled people who cant receive sound doctrine.
Let me know what you find out.

Blessings in Jesus...

Hey Phil,
That was an awesome response. I don't feel lead to join them at all, I would just like to see it in action, to visit, hehehe. I have read from what they say, they do go out and evangelize, and maybe if they were like the first century church they would have turned the whole world upside down with their doctrine, I can imagine if you or I saw with our own eyes Jesus healing the lepers, casing out demons raising the dead, feeding the 5000, then I believe we would be so crazy to spread the Gospel and would be able to have that kind of faith, they would have to kill us before we turned the world inside out. if our mentors did those things then we would too, but more often they didn't. Jesus said that if you cant believe me because of what I say then believe because of the things I do. the gifts given by the Holy Spirit are for the building up and edification of the church. The believers prayer in acts asked the Lord for signs and miracles so that people would believe their message... I don't know Phil, I read the reporters thing too and felt tugs of wondering, but I'm not there and can't see into their everyday lives, I have listened to a lot of recordings from there of them just sitting around talking about Jesus and its all good, Keith Green had their cluster in Texas where they fellowshipped like that too, people call him harsh and legalistic, what an awesome brother with such a passion for the Lord.
I have never heard Mike once say anything about the C of C, haven't we all come from a weird IC experience. I asked Frank Viola what he thought of Mike, lol he has met him in person, he said that Mike is pretty heavy, lol imagine Paul and Peter in the same room at different times in their walk, it just makes me laugh to think how we all are sometimes and what God thinks.
anyway, I love you brother, we shall one day know as we are fully known and what a treat that will be:) Jesus said that the Holy Spirit will lead us into ALL truth, but I'm sure we will step into it a lot along the way, I can just see our Father saying; oh look at my kids, aren't they cute.

Blessings...
Scott
PS the gift you have, I have that too, and so does my wife. I know what you mean about the weird feelings, and the pastor thing, they arc around me, I just can not sit in an IC service, it makes me feel crazy to know that, that man has no business standing up there, telling people what they should be doing when his whole life is for the IC machine, and whats worse is they would call you a hieratic to protect their position, so you can never open your mouth because of the gnawing within.

Hey,
I went to a Vineyard in Salt Lake City for quite awhile and they were into servant evangelism pretty heavy, about 15 years ago I had a home church and we went and picked up a ton of homeless people every week and would bring them to my house to feed them and share Jesus with them, when we first started doing that some friends and I had just took over a branch of one of the old style Calvary Chapels before Chuck Smith messed it all up, (long story) anyway some of the people who were there before told us that if we didn't stop bringing transients to church they would have to leave, lol we told them to not let the door hit them in the butt, anyway been there and done that but where I live now seems no one wants to dig in, we live in the heart of Mormonism, the Christians here are pretty goofy, they treat me like I have the plague, theres hardly no home fellowships at all, the pastors in the local churches wont have it, all meetings are at the church where they can keep their eye on things. I have dealt with this Mormon junk long enough and my wife and I have asked and believe He has released us to head out up to Washington State, a lot closer to my wifes family.
Trust me, I will spit out the bones and will retain the good stuff, thanks for your advice.
Looking up as the day draws closer and following hard after Jesus
Blessings Brother

btw the main reason I'm leaving is my work situation is bad here haven't had a job in 3 months, been prayin like mad, seems God is squeezing me to go, I know He can bring me work in 1 nano second, I have been out going door to door trying to get work but nothing yet, I have one job to do that will make it happen, we are waiting and waiting, there is no jobs in the paper or anything, must be par for a construction boom town, works been sweet for the last 5 years but not anymore. My wife and I are really looking forward to being beheaded for Jesus :) we want to go home but if He isn't done with us here well then bring it on, we are ready for whatever He wants
