Hi Rev. Gladys,
Welcome to Simple Church. I am intrigued as to why you joined an internet community that is about Christians gathering in simple forms of church life particularly without or even avoiding the clergy/laity distinction. I am not making this an attack because of your title. Actually, I am ordained and have a DMin. but in the context of the house church movement, titles and positions are considered anathma. That is what many have left behind in the IC (institutional church).

Hi Gladys,
I apologize for the abrupt introduction. I was only trying to find the story behind the woman. I am especially curious about those who use a clergy title on this forum since so many in the house church movement reject any form of leadership. But that is not to mean that all do. There is every strain of house church from totally organic freelancers to very heirarchal. Some are planting house churches in the name of denominations while some denominations are shunning house church as a viable expression of church.
For us, husband Tim and I, we are personally house church. But our ministry often takes us into the institution. There we are Dr. and Dr. and use our credentials to enable us to bring our message to the IC.
So my intention was not to offend, therefore I sincerely apologize.
