Isn't it wonderful that we're not of this world? Neither is our Lord. There are Gentiles and there are Jews and then there is us, the ekklesia.. the third race..(1Cor.10:32)..who is from Him and in Him. Amazing what humanism and individualism has ...

UPDATE: August 27,2009
You can see a bit of our journey if you read the portions below. We finally got an Itinerant minister in. Milt Rodriguez, a co-worker of Frank Viola came to our town, Mission BC, and put on an 'organic church life' conference. A number of groups have started as a result of the meetings and it is our hope that after we meet for 6 to 8 months ( we're just eating together and sharing our stories... no 'religious activities' right now ) that the Lord will BIRTH a new 'organic church' here in the Mission / Abbotsford area. Numbers aren't much indication of anything, I know, but there are over 20 saints showing interest right now and hopefully a 'core group' that is on the same page who want to pursue Christ together and learn to live by His life, will emerge... We've all determined to lay down all of our expectations, past chruch experiences, present 'church practices', our wish-dreams, etc at the foot of the cross and move on with Christ alone... with Him as the Head.
What an awesome opportunity!

<My wife (Laurel) and 2 teen-age kids ( Ken and Steve ) and I live in Mission, BC CANADA... We're about 40 mi. east of Vancouver BC. God has been dealing with me regarding the IC since about 1990. Did a 'stint' by diving deep into Ralph Neighbour's "Cell Church" model, but eventually got bogged down with the whole heiarchial government structure in that model and we were knocked off course.
We moved to Mission about 10 years ago and still haven't found many people who are willing to break free from the IC to pursue Christ together. Still looking for a 'properly formed' community of saints in our area... or.. to get some folks together who are willing to lay it all down and have some apostolic / itinerant ministry come and help us get started. We're meeting with a few people but haven't figured out how to take the next step yet. So, if anyone reading this is in the Abbotsford / Mission BC area, and you're also looking for the reality of His Church, please ... let's talk.

UPDATE Feb2009> We've been meeting with two other couples for close to two years... just meet once a week to encourage one another... and, for me, to detox from the IC....Just before Christmas we felt it was time to move towards aligning ourselves with the Lord to allow Him to establish a local expression of His Body here in Mission, BC., so we put a very small ad in a small local paper and the same ad on Craig's List. We prayed that the Lord would lead whomever He wanted to link up with us to those ads... well, this January we started meeting with 3 new couples.. doubled our size. We moved our meeting to Sundays at 4pm so we could eat together and then fellowship with the Lord aftewards. A primary focus right now is "getting to know one another, so we'll take it easy for a number of months until the end of July / early August when, the Lord willing, we will have some 'itinerant ministry' coming to establish us and set a foundation in the soil of our Lord with Him as the Head. We're very excited about what the Lord is doing.
The music on this page is from a brother by the name of Daniel Markoya. Please take a moment to listen to them. His website is: Daniel Markoya A brother here pointed me to him... and my wife and I have really been blessed and challenged by Daniel's music and the anointing on it. He has 4 CDs: Get Daniel's Music at cdbaby.com

Organic Church - Leaving it all at the cross.

About a month ago Milt Rodriguez and Andy Smith came into our town, Mission, BC, to do what was called an "organic church life" conference. A part of the purpose of the meetings was to see if there was anyone in our area who wanted to go down this road.. and for those of us who didn't have a clue how or where to find any like-minded saints, to bring us all together around the Lord.

There could be as many as 3 or 4 groups forming or re-aligning as a result of these meetings. Hopefully, somewhere… Continue

Organic Church Life: A Report on Conference with Milt Rodriguez

Hello Saints..

Milt Rodriguez, who as most of you know is a co-worker with Frank Viola, Alan Levine and Gary Welters, was in Mission, BC CANADA presenting the Lord in a series of meetings we called, "Organic Church Life".

As Frank Viola pointed out in Toronto, in June, Milt reiterated here, that those of us who have left or are leaving the Institutional Church, have a lot of "baggage" and "mindsets" that need to go to the cross. There
is a lot of unlearning and relearning to do. We need to let… Continue

Christ was Preeminent Before Creation

Lately I've been thinking off and on about the glory our Lord had BEFORE He created... Before He created the heavens and the earth... in a time when there was no angels and no sun and no dirt... there was nothing... In fact, there wasn't even 'nothing' because there was only Christ. He is ALL and in ALL..He couldn't create outside of Himself because there wasn't anything "out there".. He is ALL.. so He had to create in Himself.... In fact, In Him dwells all the fulness of the Godhead too.... but… Continue

Don't Rest in the Shadow Instead of the Substance

I was reading the following recently, can't remember which 17th Century French or Spanish author it was, ( Guyon, Fenelon or Molinos) but in the old Quaker booklet, A Guide to True Peace, it said:

"Christ said,'Behold , I stand at the door and knock - if any man hears My voice, and o… Continue

Christ ALL and in ALL: The Path shown in Eph.4:11-16

There's a lot of discussion around this passage (Eph.4:11-16) with some folks having an understanding that's often influenced by their particular 'stream' in the Body of Christ. And, I'm sure there's a number of ways of looking at these verses too. Personally, I like to remember that 'the Church' is not an institution nor is it an organization. She is a living organism. Corporately she is the very Body of our glorious Lord with the same Divine Life in her that is in the Head. If you see her you… Continue

Ron,
Thanks so much for your offer of assistance in regard to the conference in Mission, BC. Unfortunately, we've had to make the very difficult choice to attend our best friends' son's wedding that weekend. I so wish the dates hadn't conflicted. If there is any way for us to get a video or some of the material from the conference, we'd love to be contacted. We still long to get connected with other Christians in our area and begin to function as a local expression of the precious Body of Christ in the north central part of Washington state.

Hi Ron,
I think you contacted me some time ago about a conference but we never heard back when you wrote to ask if the email was correct. Can you tell us a bit more about it? We may be able to come if the dates/time work out.

Hi Ron,

Its good to know there is a friend nearby (LOL). It has been difficult to find any like-minded people in this area, consequently I spend a lot of time alone, waiting on the Lord. It is great that you seem to have some like-minded friends with you on your journey. I have some that I communicate via internet, but someday I hope to see some real people. I was raised in the Baptist church and first began to see a different approach to church life through the writings of Watchman Nee. Eventually I ended up in a Quaker church because I thought that they were saying the same things. After a few years I realized that even though they were "talking the talk" we never really got into the practice of waiting on the Lord that the early Quakers experience. The whole idea of hearing and obeying the voice of Jesus Christ was a continual mantra, but we always seemed to spend time talking about it and then revert back to traditional church programs. So I am seeking the mind of Christ for my next step. I have enjoyed knowing Page Hamilton, but we live quite a ways apart and because of my work schedule I find it hard to meet with them. I have a friend who lives near you and with your permission I would like to send her your contact info.

I will definitely include your group in my prayers as the Spirit leads.

Be Well!

Hey Ron,

You've been busy tonight. :-) We will check out the conference you are hosting.

We are part of an organic church. It is a blast as we see lives being transformed. We are also seeking to help others who want to see God move where they live. We are truly passionate about reaching out to those in our apartment community and through relationships.

That's very brief, but I think it's all I have brain power for tonight. How about you? What is your journey?

Hi Ron,

Live in Dunbar area and work at Telus at the Boot, not far from you ;-)
I'd be gald to share my journey with you one day .. but getting ready to hit the sack now.

We've been just visiting with some HC types in an informal way -- they're out in Surrey area. (I forwarded conference info to them).

Actually there is a HC in my area run by ex-JW's -- I've not had a chance to check it out yet.

Are you heading to Toronto for the Viola conference?

Talk to you later, goodnight,

Paul
