Sorry for taking so long to accept. Been away for awhile but planning to use this site alot in the future.
Karen and Jamey said… Hi Roy,
sounds very similar. I guess the reason I have not been on here in awhile because I tried to give the IC yet another shot. We visited other churches yet still either found the "deadness" of them or that their teachings were unbiblical. Its like the more I try to fight it, the more that the Lord has shown me that the simple church is where He wants us.
Right now there are just the 4 of us. My wife, my 2 teenage kids and I. Its tough to find others when we look for them. I think the Lord wants us to get to know Him on a personal level before He brings others to us.
I see that JaJireh mentioned a facebook group. That is something I'd be interested in. I do not use facebook at all (always been reluctant on that kind of stuff) but would be willing to participate. Have you tried it yet? If you have, how is it working out for you?
Keep listening to the Lord, He will guide us through all the deserts of life.
Karen and Jamey said… Roy,
I know what you mean. Just got finished wrapping some of the presents (well Karen did, I'm more of a "hold the tape for me" kinda guy). Still haven't finished all the shopping yet.
Hopefully next week will be a little less hectic. Plan on to do some fishing if weather keeps the way its been.
Well if I don't hear from you before, Merry Christmas.
Jamey
John Brown said… Thanks for the vote of confidence to join this new member in friendship and fellowship. I am often reluctant to share the accuracy of the text because it tends to step on the toes of those who harbor fuzzy concepts, learned the faith via hearsay, or who have little real understanding of scripture. To them, I seem diversionary or some kind of "strict doctrine harper" but without some accuracy, what do you have? Open doors for the adversary to corrupt the minds of the faithful, and leave them without answers and powerless.
So many Christians, especially the young, are spiritually anemic due to a lack of proper spiritual food: The Word of God.
I can really appreciate Wolgang Simson's statement in his essay,The Power of Nameless and Faceless People, where he says, "Stories and experiences are one thing; biblical, objective truth is another. Personally, I decided to remain tethered to the pole of biblical revelation with all my life, and rate and observe any experience, no matter how exciting, as secondary, judged and weighed by biblical truth. Might is not right - God is right"
YES HE IS!!
