How do we clothe ourselves with Jesus? By following His example. There is also a picture of this in the book of Esther. She is given all the items necessary for purification but, she must apply them. Many will say that this is salvation by works. It…

THE CLOTHING OF THE BRIDE OF CHRIST

INTIMACY THROUGH SUFFERING

Trials and tribulations have their purpose. James tells us that through them we develop perseverance and maturity. (James 1:2-4) Hebrews tells us that hardship is a form of discipline, and though it is painful, we should allow ourselves to be trained by it. (Heb. 12:5-11) As a matter of fact, though Jesus was the Son of God, Scripture tells us that He learned obedience from what He suffered. (Heb. 5:8) Certainly suffering is an opportunity for us to learn obedience as well. I have met some Belie… Continue

WHO'S THE HIGH PRIEST OF YOUR HOME?

Many denominations teach that the husband is the high priest of the home, or that the husband is the priest of the home. My husband and I are ones who sat under this teaching for many years, and we never thought to question this teaching. Being the high priest (or the priest) of the home, the husband is to take charge of all things spiritual for their wife and children. This includes leading the family in devotions, prayer and devotions with his wife, and so on. In some denominations, this teach… Continue

THE FREEDOM TO "BE" - PART 3 OF 3

(Continued from Part 2)

LIVING IN THE REALITY

The Old Covenant was the shadow; the New Covenant is the reality (Col. 2:17; Heb. 10:1). There are external regulations that passed away with the Old Covenant, and now these things are internal, spiritual realities. For instance, the temple is no longer a man-made building, as the people of God are the temple (Acts 17:24; I Cor. 3:16). The Sabbath is no longer a literal day; rather, it is ceasing from our own works and entering the rest of God (Heb… Continue

THE FREEDOM TO "BE" - PART 2 OF 3

(Continued from Part 1)

IN “BEING”….

As we come into the place of “being,” our minds become renewed. We begin to see things from God’s perspective and from the order of the New Covenant instead of the Old Covenant. As our mindset changes, our actions begin to follow suit. We begin to live in the reality of what we once only knew in theory. Let’s take a look at a few of these realities. In being….

1) WE BECOME THE TEMPLE:

Under the Old Covenant, God’s people built temples for God. Under the N… Continue

My first question is are most people eating at the facility or has that just been made available as an option?

Second, as a pastor I have been to many different conferences each with their own set of "standards" if you will. This genre or adventure, as I have discovered, is all relatively new for me so I am curious of my surroundings and expectations. Is this a casual event or blue jeans and tshirt or more dressy as most "church" functions. Even if any or all is acceptable - what is the norm or majority. I just don't want to stand-out/distract and want to be comfortable as well as an inerest in the comfort of those around me.

Thank you, Ruby. She has had quite of bit of response to her plight, which seems to have been a help to her since her first posting. Blessings. Jim

Ruby, as I read a recent posting by Lsutter (Lisa Sutter), without knowing you beyond reading some of your posts, I experienced a strong prompting to point her out to you and ask whether you would consider responding to her current sense of vulnerability.

Hi Ruby! I'm pretty sure Brent and Ruth Baker don't come to the gathering I've been going to, but it's good to know that there are more organic church gatherings happening in NKy. Nice to meet you, Ruby!

Ruby, thanks for your comment on my rant "For My Dying...". It's nice to be understood. :D Yeh, it was interesting to me, when the Lord began showing me that all the "rules" I was trying to obey to please Him, weren't. :) That my "trying to toe the line" was NOT the same as dying to self daily. ;P Jumping thru hoops makes me feel good about myself, or makes me feel like a failure. Dying to self only happens when I yield to HIS will & His ways. It's not something I can do in my own strength. So, I can't be proud of myself for it. :) And I don't worry about "failing" at it, as I know He'll provide me plenty of opportunity. I can die/grow at my own pace. hee hee! :P
