Greetings, Salvatore. Have you tried a search through the "community" tab at the top of the page? Search members or groups in "Chicago" and a list of members there or close by is produced. Rather than post inquiries generally onto the feed (which will appear on the main page for only several hours), I'd recommend posting directly to a person -- either their wall, or through opening a "friend" connection. I see that there are a few IL folks living east and s-e of Chicago. They may know someone who knows someone ....
You might also snag an idea from a post on my page: "What do we do when there is no group to join?"
