Sandor, great to "meet" you. Are you still living in Chicago? Are you a part of a simple church here?

Hello Bro Sandor,

I thank the Lord that he has called a man who has the heart for our country. Thank you for your encouraging message. I don't live in Cebu by the way, I live in Sta. Rosa, Laguna, but my brother does. He lives in Talisay.I only get to visit occasionally. I don't know if it is near where you're fiance lives :-) But if she does, I believe he would be more than happy to get to know her.
His name is James, and he is also involved with simple church there. In fact its growing there in the visayan region more rapidly than here. But God has his on time regarding his work. I am truly encouraged that a brother who lives 10,000 miles away pays for me. Thank you and I will reciprocate by praying for you as well, and your fiance. That nothing comes in the way of her interview these coming days and that her trip be expedited so that you can have time together at soonest possible time. Continue to pray for me as well because I came up with the flu recently and its taking a bit long for me to recover.

Do keep in touch, May God Bless the works of your hands.

bro in Christ,
Jesse

Hello there brother. Yes we are going back to the root of things. We are digging the foundations of the church once a again. And we know that when we reach the bottom and hit bedrock, we will rediscover Jesus as the rock of that foundation (Matt. 16). And on Him we would want to build with gold and precious stones and not with hay or straw. Much more than our preoccupation with organic life and church structures, we are called to return to Jesus, how he lived, what he proclaimed, how he served and build disciples. To go back to that radical simplicity of the life of Christ and participating with his divine life in us, would determine our mission and shape the way of being church here in the Philippines. But this is a lonely road for most of us who calls the church to go back into radical simplicity and enthrone Jesus. True enough that Prophets have no honor in their own country. Pray for us brother and thank you for praying. God bless.
