GRACE through FAITH.....

Its not about what you have to do, but what has already been done.
Its not about what you must accomplish, but what has already been accomplished for you.
Its not about using your willpower to effect change, but his power changing you.
Its all about GRACE, not works.
Thank you Jesus...

Food For Thought!

While at work this week as I looked for some good quotes on Volunteer Appreciation I stumbled across a couple I felt were good enough to share here.....

The first question which the priest and the levite asked was: "If I stop to help this man, what will happen to me" But..the good Samaritan reversed the question: If I do not stop to help this man, what will happen to him?~ Martin Luther King Jr.

ENTERING GOD'S REST

Hebrews 3v.4 For every house is built by someone, but the builder of all things is God. 5 Now Moses was faithful in all his house as a servant, for a testimony of those things which were to be spoken later; 6 but Christ was faithful in all His house-- whose house we are, if we hold fast our confidence and the boast of ourContinue

Love is the fulfillment of the law

Romans 13 v. 8-10
Owe nothing to anyone except to love one another; for he who loves his neighbor has fulfilled the law. For this, "YOU SHALL NOT COMMITT ADULTERY,YOU SHALL NOT MURDER, YOU SHALL NOT STEAL, YOU SHALL NOT COVET," and if there is any other commandment, it is summed up in this saying, "You shall love your neighbor as yourself." Love does no wrong to a neighbor; therefore love is the fulfillment of the lawContinue

From Him, Through Him, and To Him

Romans 11v.33 Oh, the depth of the riches both of the wisdom & the knowledge of God! How unsearchable are His judgments & unfathomable His ways! For who has known the mind of the Lord, or who became His counselor? Or who has first given to Him that it might be paid back to Him again? For from Him & through Him & to Him are all things. To Him be the glory forever. Amen.

I love this! Everythin… Continue

Sandy, thanks for the response. I liked many of your points. As I understand scripture the only fruit we are to be inspecting is our own.

Sandy:

Please do not take my questions as threatening or anyting like that.

Is it okay to question someone's relationship with God? Is it okay to question the quality of their relationship? So, if a person is not actively seeking do they truly have no relationship? Can a person start a relationship (i.e. be truly attached to the vine) and then sever that relationship? Is this what Paul is alluding to in 1 Corinthians 15:2, 10?

I like what you said about standing still. It is an important facet of our faith and relationship. My contention with Bill was that there is an active component on our part to becoming Christlike.

If you are interested I can send you the response I sent him.

Peace from the NN's of the Earth,

Mike

'Busy' hardly describes it! We were 'Care Pastors' (elders). Inordinate amounts of time were spent on mostly fruitless endeavors that did nothing to build the Kingdom. The complex programs and outreaches would boggle your mind.

Thanks for the encouragement! It's good to connect with others on the same journey. I love the way God brings people at just the right time to uplift us when we are down. We don't even realize what a blessing we are to others.

you are most kind. there was a good book years ago about love language... and it seems that men hear better when given a word picture that conveys an emotion that they might feel, something to do with their interests or scope. I don't really like sparring, but then I cannot let somethings alone. I really really appreciate your comments.

Hello again Sandy,
You said this in your comment to me concerning your manner here at SC:..(Im tryin to be nice here)..its so hard sometimes!! :( Self Control seems to be the hardest fruit for me to obtain... so glad His Grace is sufficient!...He's still workin on me.... :)

Me: Nice isn't one of the fruits of the Spirit. It's interesting that just about an hour ago while doing my usual walk and talk with the Lord He shows me why I fail to produce the fruit of self-control at times. It's because I'm TRYING to produce it.

And yes dear sister His grace is sufficient. Instead of bemoaning our weakness, or worse trying to be strong, we should glory in them so that the power of Christ would over-shadow us. He's looking for vessels in which His strength can be completed and put on display.

Howdy Sandy,
Right after I commented about your Watchman Nee quote I went to the woman speaking discussion and saw John Walker's reply. He nailed Michael, or let's say that Watchman Nee, no let's say the Lord nailed it. I'm hoping and praying that Michael will have a Damascus Road encounter....
