Overwhelmed in a great way!

After two years of doing house church as an almost "science experiment" of faith, it's exploded! We are now upwards of 60+ people and looking to branch off into another group, possibly two more in other locations with leaders that God has raised up in the body. That is real relationship and friendship with the others in the group. We have been meeting on Sun at 1:00 pm for a meal, worship, sharing from the Bible and fellowship. Our meetings last around 3.5 to 4.5 hours. We do not have a set schedule. Our meetings our interactive. One week we meet at Doug's house in Mountain View and the next week we have been meeting at my house in Burke County, near George Hildebrand Elementary School. Kendon and his wife Sarah have been great in their committment to seeking a more pure expression of the bride of Christ. You mentioned you were on staff at a large church. I come from a long IC background, the most recent of which was Hope Chapel and Calvary Chapel on Maui, as well as Calvary Chapel in Coeur d'Alene, Idaho. I also taught at Calvary Bible College for awhile. I've done just about it all in churches, from heading up multi-million dollar building programs, children's ministry, elder, and my favorite job, as janitor at Calvary in Coeur d'Alene. There is some "detoxing' that you will go through in leaving a big church. I was fortunate to have a long time HC mentor to help me through the process.

We would love to get together with you (and wife and kids if you're married). My two stepkids are part of our home group (boy 12 and girl 14). We moved to Hickory for the sole purpose of that is where God told us to go. No jobs, no family, no nothing, except blind obedience.

I live in Mountain View in the Waterford Hills subdivision off of Zion Church Road. My cell is 208-755-9461. I'm intentionally unemployed (retired), so my time is pretty open. As Kendon suggested, feel free to give either or both us a call if not for anything else to provide encouragement to you on this journey that the Lord has put you on.
