Teeg!! Welcome to simplechurch.com. We are very excited to be able to use this site to connect with like minded believers all over the world. We haven't met yet, but we will. I am Tim Mather's daughter. Are you folks coming to pilgrimage?

Hey, Erin. Agreed - this new social networking thing is a great tool. We know your folks and the Hudsons and lots of amazing Kingdom Kids, and look forward to knowing you, too. Yes, we'll be worshipping with you in Portal in October!

What can I say?
Hey, we got our tickets booked to Georgia, but couldn't make Savannah work - it was gonna be like $2MM per seat. Yes, two million dollars.
Okay, not 2 million but like $200 or $250 more than Atlanta, and we couldn't swing it.
If you can't make the trek all the way to the ATL with all the other stuff you've got going that weekend, that's okay - we can figure something out. We're in on Wednesday and out on Sunday afternoon...
We also thought there would probably be others coming into Atlatna, maybe we can kind of coordinate travel efforts and expenses?
There he is! I knew you guys had a profile on here! I'm working on it. I have great friends out on this site!
Take care!

Hey, Teeg,
We've been neighbors and fellow simple-churchers for some years now - do you suppose we're ever going to actually meet (in the temporal universe, I mean)?

what's "Pilgrimage"?

Hey, anybody else flying into Atlanta for the Pilgrimage to Portal, in on October 15 and out on October 19? If so, we'd love to work a carpool...
Thanks for the reply - I'd never heard of the "Pilgrimage" (or of Portal GA for that matter). Feast of Tabernacles, eh? I've been bombarded recently with emails concerned with the keeping of the OT feasts (many forwarded from Michael Rood, who, I believe, teaches that Christians are required to observe the feasts as prescribed in the Law)
I'll check out the website, though I must confess I am generally leery of Christian groups that make a big deal out of Jewish traditions. My wife grew up in an orthodox Jewish family. When people find out she's Jewish, they often ask her why she's not involved in the "messianic" movement, to which she generally responds "God delivered me out of that bondage - why would I want to go back?"
That being said, we expect to be in the Northeast during Succoth, possibly with an opportunity to participate in festivities with some of her Jewish family and friends in the Boston area. Gail and I host a Passover celebration in our home every year (perhaps you and Amy would join us sometime?), and believe it behooves Christians to gain better understanding of the Hebraic roots of our faith, but we have observed a disturbing number of Christ-followers who, after becoming fascinated with Judaica, come under bondage to the Law.
I've also never heard of the "Open Church" movement - is it related to the book "Open Church" (which I loved) by Jim Rutz?
Blessings - have a great time in the South - hope to meet you guys soon.
