Also quickly, I've attached an article entitled "First Century Discipleship" written by an American scholar and friend who has lived in Israel since the 1960s, David Bivin. It will give you a taste of what being a disciple of a rabbi meant to Jewish…

Intentional Discipleship

INTENTIONAL DISCIPLESHIP

Our job is making disciples, our goal is finishing the Great Commission.

Each believer is supposed to be a disciple.

And if he is a disciple then he should make disciples, because a disciple is one who makes disciples.

Are you a disciple then?

Each believer can supposedly say, “I was discipled by so-and-so to follow Jesus.” But sad to say most Christians could not point to someone as the one who discipled him. Their answer is vague and blurred.

If we are commanded… Continue

Being Church

BEING CHURCH 24/7
29 05 2009

Jesus never intended for Christianity to become a religious sect. He did however want His followers to follow His footsteps in how He lived life, as designed by God, on this earth. Watching what His Father does and hearing what His Father says is what He does. That’s how He’s obedient to His Father’s will. It’s not a matter of rules or of even choosing between right and wrong but of just being obedient to His Father. In like manner, the same Father calls us. He want… Continue

House Churching in the Philippines

House-churching in the Philippines

Housechurching In the Phiippines by Molong Nacua Luke, Chapter 10 gives some very workable principles on church planting that fit in the Philippine culture.

There are three main values I see in each one of us that gives us the potential to saturate our country with God’s Word through Simple Church. Let us check them one by one and see how it fits in starting house churches mainly in the community.

Close Family Ties

If we define house church as an… Continue

you don't remember?? You took maybe more than one photo...! How is the new camera going? As for me, I am spending more time hanging out with friends who don't know the Lord yet instead of going to meetings... And I am enjoying it. I can sense that my friends trust me more already too.

Only distantly related to SC, I know Ruben Caballero from the Cebu band Cueshe. Actually, I know his sister (Bima) better since she is the wife of one of the young men I discipled over the last few years. She and her Indian husband VJ used to also fellowship with us in our home (and others' homes) on Friday nights until they moved to the U.S. But through Bima and VJ I met Ruben and then hung out with he and the band members on several occasions. Ruben (et al) are not yet born again, although they are not antagonistic to Christ and the gospel. I haven't seen Ruben in about a year though. He has less reason to come around my neighborhood now that his sister is living in Kentucky, USA.

Shabbat Shalom bro,

Hi brother Molong,

I know brother Daniel Samuel (from India, but married to a Filipina) pretty well, and I have bumped into brother David Lim several times through other affiliations. I have been in regular correspondance with brother Emma Abrea for a couple of years, although we have never been able to swing a face-to-face in all that time. Although we have tried. Also I am friends with the Bell family (Rick and Maria, plus family) from Australia. We fellowship regularly with American HCers Bob and Colleen French plus David and Sue Parshall. In fact (God willing), we will see them tomorrow...along with the Chinese students and others who gather in their Valley Golf home.

Shalom from Pasig,

hi bro...i'm doin' good..
i just little bit busy with my college, but i wanna tell you something:
i have a friend as like my brother, 3 years ago he made a mistake in relationship, he lost the way of life..i've been praying for him for along time..last year he broke up with her wife, the wife was leaving him and his son, she got married with another guy...i couldn't do anything, just stay as a brother (proverb 17:17) finally..yesterday God catched him again, made a breakthrough! i really thankful for His grace..

keep pray for each other!

Hi Molong!

I just got started with simple church two weeks ago.

And this is the most exciting thing since being born again for me!

I would like to know more about it.

Is it possible to sit-in at your meet-ups?

I want to network/meet with simple church people in the Philippines.

Hope to meet and learn from you.

By the way, I saw you at Wolf's newsletter.

You inspire me!

Thanks.

Eric
